Texas CB Kenyatta Watson II in the Portal

Did Williams announce where he was transferring? Could always decide to withdraw his name from the portal and stay at Miami

They took him off of the roster quickly. Might have been mutual. Even if I was going to transfer with this season being a wash he would have been better to practice instead of sit at home since you get a year of eligibility anyways.

You get an extra year but not necessarily early eligibility to play next year (without a waiver). I'm not sure when the clock starts for that. Maybe he's going to make a case for sitting out this year.

He's 6'2 190lbs runs a 4.5 40 & 4.12 shuttle.

Has terrific hip turn ability & great ball skills, he'd be perfect here in this Defense & would instantly be the CB1 Field corner from day 1 at the start of next year.

However, my guess with how his dad is he'll want him close to home at a SEC school. His dad loveeees attention, not quite Lavar Ball status, but his pops 100% loves the spotlight.

Maybe we could sell him on the success transfers have had here & the big market appeal of Miami, but iirc Kenyatta Sr was openly pushing a bunch of the Grayson kids to Auburn when he was coaching there because he had gotten hired by Under Armor & AU is an UA school.

red flag.

that kind of stuff bothers the crap out of me, and never works out well unless you're the kind of program that buys their way through that stuff. (LSU, Auburn, etc.)
