Texas A&M Starting QB

Who did he recruit before Winston? Manuel and Ponder were highly ranked but they were average too.

Jimbo is an elite recruiter but and average coach.
Manuel and ponder both played in the league..by that alone they weren’t average..tbh y’all throw the word “average” out way too loosely especially when talking about coaching. Jimbo is stubborn, yes. Average, no

I disagree. You can play in the NFL and still be “average”. Those guys showed it when they got to the NFL.

Jimbo is an avg coach based on his salary and his peers, imo.

If you want to compare these people to civilians then yeah they aren’t average, but if you compare them to their peers, they’re average.

Lol yeaa That’s not how that works..compare ponder and Manuel to their peers from that HS class..what they accomplished wasn’t average. You don’t get drafted early on and start games in the league by being average.

by definition jimbo is not average given the fact his record as a HC is not Average lol..the mans won over 75% of his games..that’s not a average win percentage. That’s among the elite in modern coaching and it’s a 12 year sample size...he’s a stubborn **** and his offense is outdated for sure. But a average ball coach, Nah

these mofos were AVERAGE LOL

You can’t be “average” and become a NFL starting QB..that’s like bringing pumpkin pie to the BBQ..it just don’t make sense

If you recall with Jameis...Jameis got WORSE while he was at FSU. Completion % dropped, YPA dropped, INTs (a theme throughout his college and professional career) nearly doubled in his final year.

These are numbers that should IMPROVE over your college career, not go the other way.
Thank you!! I live in Tally and they're always reliving the Jameis days. They hate it when I tell them that his last year wasn't nearly that good. They had a lot of comebacks but the were only behind because of his bad play.

I get you.. Jimbo still sucks as an OC/QB coach lol. He doesn’t develop qbs and his system is trash. That’s why I called him average but I get where your coming from

I don’t know man I don’t remember either of these two guys being world beaters in college.

To be honest, I'm worried about A&M and Clemson. The reason I wanted Mario is because he places a heavy emphasis on the line of scrimmage and being physical. The problem is, will one off-season be enough time for him to implement this change before we face next season's schedule. I always get concerned with the idea of our O-Line going against a tough, physical SEC D-Line. Even though Clemson is in the ACC they've always recruited and played a style similar to SEC teams in the trenches. Then again, Venables is gone so will they still have that toughness they've been known for?
No, it will take more than one offseason to develop the physicality and depth. Doesn‘t mean improvements can’t occur though.

And while Clemson’s DLs have been very good to elite, their OLs have been average. Generational talents like Deshaun Watson and Trevor Lawrence, plus excellent RBs and WRs have help mask those deficiencies.

Take in account the era along with jumbos archaic *** offense and the talent not being that great around them at FSU..both were 1st round picks..that by definition makes them not average while in college lol..now their nfl career We’re average at best

Yeah, Jimbo really coached these QBs up...lol. All of their number trend down year-over-year during their time with Jimbo. And, with so many spread offenses being much more pass happy & up-tempo (yielding gaudy offensive stats) Jimbo has somehow managed to have his latest batch of QBs generate about 50% of the yards of the guys that were playing 8 years ago. Sure, Winston was good in college but yikes!!

09 Christian Ponder 2717 14/7
10 Christian Ponder 2044 20/8
