Texas A&M Starting QB

I’ve watched him a few times. Strong arm.

But Calzada doesn’t play up to his arm talent.

I do have a question in my mind, maybe some of you can opine.

Jimbo got a generational talent with Jameis, the question is, does he have a consistent track record of developing quarterbacks? I say this because Jameis was so talented, I’m not sure how much development Jimbo actually did.

I mean he’s known as being a quarterback friendly coach.

But is he really?

I just don’t know based on his history if he actually is. Thoughts?

Haynes King & Conner Weigman are the future for TAMU.

Plus with how deep the Portal is with great QB’s, TAMU can always go get one of’em.

However, for as long as Jumbo still runs that 1990’s Terry Bowden Auburn offense, it doesn’t matter who he gets at QB, they’ll be a team loaded with talent that drops games every year because they can’t get the QB/Offense right.

If you recall with Jameis...Jameis got WORSE while he was at FSU. Completion % dropped, YPA dropped, INTs (a theme throughout his college and professional career) nearly doubled in his final year.

These are numbers that should IMPROVE over your college career, not go the other way.

eh he's not incredible and him leaving might not make a difference but certainly doesn't help A&M to lose a 10 game starter

hopefully they don't get bo nix or the USCw dude

I have to wonder how much in the guise of a NIL these kids are being offered to jump ship? This NIL thing has and will continue to destroy amateur athletics. I can only imagine how many potential scandals are being swept under the rug.

i really like their qb commit

if he pans out like i think he should, coupled with a great dl commit class, they should contend for the nc in two years

That FSU game where Kaayak had them until he threw that pick still puts the frost on my a$$. I want to say it was Richt’s first year or Golden’s last. It was at the Rock. Great game, but FSU won it. You’d think that Cuckbo would have done better against us with the way he dominated the state’s recruiting, but it wasn’t the case.

I’ll be at the game. Will be tough because that’s a **** tough environment to walk in to and get a W. We haven’t been that great on the road. If Mario pulls this off, crown the man. Would be a **** of a win.

I would imagine Elko and Duke could use him. Their QB was brutal

Clearly gonna go back to Haynes King when he's healthy.. he's average. That game at A&M keeps getting more winnable if we make good hires and make some nice portal additions...
and he ended up in the porstal as well. Im sure there will be a lot of bites.

"Tough" environment .... ehhhh

"Annoying" environment .... right on.

Doesn't make a difference going into next year. King was their starter the first couple games before he had a season ending injury and this guy stepped in.

I think it's fair to say when he has above average talent to work with he produces above average results.. similar to any QB coach out there

To be honest, I'm worried about A&M and Clemson. The reason I wanted Mario is because he places a heavy emphasis on the line of scrimmage and being physical. The problem is, will one off-season be enough time for him to implement this change before we face next season's schedule. I always get concerned with the idea of our O-Line going against a tough, physical SEC D-Line. Even though Clemson is in the ACC they've always recruited and played a style similar to SEC teams in the trenches. Then again, Venables is gone so will they still have that toughness they've been known for?
