Te Cory Couch

Smoot waa nasty for a while man if that's who Couch will be then hes better then i expect and in already a big fan
No way to know that yet, just picked a skinny kid that no one thought could play at a high level. IIRC Smoot couldn't even do 1 bench rep at the combine, but he could **** sure cover.

Yeah but if he was here with Gus he wouldn't have that problem so Couch should be a beast

Gritty, heady player...probably a coach's son. Reminds me of Jason Sehorn.

Im not saying this is who he is but i see some mini AJ Bouye in him. A covering technician who isn't afraid to tackle and just doesnt lose in 1 on 1s

To be such a small guy in terms of weight he plays very physical. His speed is very evident as well

I don't know what level of teams he's playing against but the #1 thing that jumps out to me is his closing speed, WOW

When did the narrative become that no one thought Couch could play at a high level?
A combination of those that just want to devalue our commits and the homers that want push the narrative that Miami was only built on diamonds in the rough that nobody wanted? In a couple years this board will discuss Couch as a borderline 3 star that had no offers from anyone. Kinda like Bandy.....

That in a cb ia so important i mean without a perfect pass as long as he plays the ball the way dbs did last season for thr most part he can dominate

For as much as people like to get on the defensive staff (I'd like to see us close better on some of the top targets without question), I do believe that they're doing a great job of identifying the right traits for college growth and upside
This class has been sneaky good on the defensive side of the ball. We have basically gotten every target at LB, an underrated class at DT which is a difficult position to evaluate anyway, two DE studs, plus three good DBs in Smith, Brownlee and Couch.

Here's what got to be understood, a football player is a football player, getting to caught up in what they weigh in highschool, 140 to 145 is real common for highschool db's and wideouts, plus at 140 to 145 that's all muscle and not weak. Also, he's going into his senior year, so he'll probably be round 150 when he leaves. But again, if coach rumph wants him, their is a reason, we back to recruiting guys that mentally belong here and wont fold. We didnt have enuff of them in recent times past, we all the way back to it now, coach richt is not shying away from nothing, in fact he has reattached the past players we the current to the future players, which means the championship alignment is back. In year 2 people were saying how surprised they were at the season we had, this year, we stay healthy, this is when we start beginning to instill the fear back into opponents. Once this o-line situation gets better, im not worried about rosier, he's already proven we can win with him, and he definitely has earned more respect from coach richt, for a guy to be told "you'll never play for me" and not transfer but fight everyday and win the starting job and hold on to it, and become the clear cut starter, i can roll with him, plus it's always something to be said about being apart of several clutch plays.

We know he has made mistakes but he keeps on fighting, we can win the whole thing with him.
