TE Brock Schott signs with the Canes

Why should he work purely as a WR if he’s also really good at running the ball as well?
I doubt he will be running the ball as a te
Either
My point is what makes him a te and not a wr
I just don’t understand why he is penciled as a te and j Moore is a wr when Brock looks more athletic fluid and explosive

Moore has film literally hurdling over kids & fences so not sure Schott is really much more athletic. But Schott is already 220 so his physical growth potential lends more to TE. We really don't know if he can effectively block or not which is a fair point but I'm sure we can use him similar to how we did Arroyo, a very big slot guy.

Oh, u r talking about Brock, I thought u were talking about Lofton. regarding Moore and Brock, I wouldn’t say one is more athletic than the other, both athletes in their own way. Moore is a long strider so it might not look like he’s moving but he is. Think u r underestimating Moore’s athlecticism. One thing I can say Moore is def more fluid, u can see it in his route running and cuts.

Where you at @JHallCanes and our other power lifters

What is that weight? Are those 45’s. And what does this lift tell us, or not, about explosiveness/power? .
A 150kg power clean for someone who is 18 and 95kg and he's physiology is very impressive.

That usually translates to 80 to 85 percent of a full clean, if he was Olympic lifting training 170kg, or 365lbs clean, which is quite strong for an athlete who isn't focusing on Oly lifting for their main sport.

With that being said, I trained as an Oly lifting athlete mid way through and after my football career, I can safely say when I started in an off season, when we did spring camp, I was seriously way more explosive on cuts and blocking and into tacklers (i.e. I was an RB).

In my opinion, sprint training and Oly lifting are the most beneficially supplementary sports when in football.

If he runs a 4.6 40, he's measurables SHOULD translate.

Yea I was talking bout Brock and how he doesn’t seem like a te to me
And should be a wr
That’s all

Bc they probably goin off of body frame prediction & figure Brock is goin to eventually grown into a TE (BIG PAUSE)

These days TE/WR can be a little interchangeable right? Arroyo sort of fit that bill he was more WR than TE
I would say this is why Arroyo should have a pretty high draft grade. He actually did a ton of blocking this year. Especially if compared to how a guy like Njoku was used here. Glad he stayed healthy and proved what we all thought he could do.

Arroyo's medicals are going to be his biggest obstacle when it comes to the draft. Knees already have teams concerned.

Lofton is more hback/full back
This guy should be wr all the way
Working purely as a wr
Moore should double as the te in my opinion

It will be interesting to see Moore's development. IMO, he has the ideal frame to be a TE. Many others on this board think he can translate to a TE at the college level. If he gets over 220 in year 1, I expect him to find an Oronde Gadsen type role on this team.

First I hear about his knee?

You may be right, jsy. His frame looks like it's going to take on more muscle mass naturally to me. I don't see how he holds off gaining another 20 pounds over the next couple years of S&C without Wegovy shots. JMHO.

Either way, I see a baller similar to other guys like Bain and X and Lofton that you have to find a role for him. I just expect that role will be limited next season as he grows into his adult body. Said differently, we shouldn't count on him in 2025.

Per 247 Moore, measured just under 6-foot-4, 205 pounds spring before senior season. I’m assuming he’s probably around 210 now. Arroyo came in at 220lb. Only time will tell but he has the potential to outgrow the WR position. Him and Schott would be dope at TE. Gilbert is also coming in around 6’7 250, he’s gonna be a huge blocking TE, he could potentially outgrow that position as well.

Dude is closer to 230 and might even be over that from the pictures I've seen. Especially at 6'4". He's certainly more than 210 tho

I’m with you. Thankfully a guy finally had his best years while he was still at Miami. Seems like we’ve had guys that had injury troubles or maybe just didn’t put it all together until after they left

Arroyo was a beast this year after so much frustration for him I’m sure

A clean is a pretty typical football lift. They got you doing these basically from the time you start lifting for football. Pretty much covers everything in one lift

For Brock let say the kid is 220. He’s listed at 6-4

A clean at 335 is solid imo. It’s tougher when you’re taller and have longer limbs like that and he’s a young kid

Sometimes people (imo) get too horny over powerlifting moves as if it automatically translates into good football players. It’s usually dudes that show up to the gym bringing a microwave and potted plants and lawn chairs because they sit on their fat asses for 6 hours talking to everyone
you sound like my son, he 18 and knows everything about lifting, true genius when it comes to everything about working out and food
