Where you at @JHallCanes and our other power lifters
What is that weight? Are those 45’s. And what does this lift tell us, or not, about explosiveness/power? .
A clean is a pretty typical football lift. They got you doing these basically from the time you start lifting for football. Pretty much covers everything in one liftWhere you at @JHallCanes and our other power lifters

Hey @JHallCanes I'm home now kicking back doing my normal CIS thread catch up thang you know and peeped in here to see what's up w/ BS (one of my favs) and ran across this post from @Problem2. See this the type of info I'm used to from him so I looked at the time stamp and it says @9:45am this morning yet around lunchtime he was lurking around some **** corner like a peeping Tom with no work to do, which is why I called him out. Don't he know we run CIS like a Nike sweatshops in Asia? No breaks dammit...chop chop
If he’s already one of the strongest athletes on the team just kill me now
There might not be a better pure football player in this class than TE Brock Schott. The 6’3, 215-pound Leo, Indiana native played all over the field, accumulating 19 receiving TDs, 2 rushing TDs, 69 TFLs and 49 sacks in his high school career. He also plays basketball.
Schott combines excellent speed (4.6) with motor and physicality. Notre Dame offered him as a LB, and he projects as an instant contributor on special teams. On offense, he has the ability to line up wide while also playing an H-back role similar to Elija Lofton. He is particularly dangerous on screens, where he uses his straight-line burst to get upfield in a hurry. The four-star prospect chose the Canes over Ohio State.
While the comparison is likely unfair, his playing style is similar to former Georgia TE Brock Bowers.
Because we have a Brock Bowers-type of athlete? Nah, stick with us for a few more years. If he’s already one of the strongest athletes on the team just kill me now
I understand your point and I usually agree with you but not this time only because I think at 6'3" 215 his ability as a pure receiver will offset his need to gain weight to be an All around TE in terms of getting on the field to contribute.I know I've often agreed with others on here that weight doesn't matter at many positions. But kid needs more mass to be a real contributor in our offense come September. And you don't want to rush that. So IMO, he'll play a bit role as a split end, maybe a few h-back snaps. But I wouldn't count on him this coming season. 20 months from now in 2026 will be a different story. JMHO.
They'll make him gain weight anyway, that's what makes the jumps at the TE spot so difficult.I understand your point and I usually agree with you but not this time only because I think at 6'3" 215 his ability as a pure receiver will offset his need to gain weight to be an All around TE in terms of getting on the field to contribute.
I agree but I meant that it wouldn't prevent him from seeing playing time as a true freshman. They'll make him gain weight anyway, that's what makes the jumps at the TE spot so difficult.
I sure hope it doesn't.I agree but I meant that it wouldn't prevent him from seeing playing time as a true freshman.
He’s at least 225-230 in that clean video. That makes the receiving ability more impressive.I understand your point and I usually agree with you but not this time only because I think at 6'3" 215 his ability as a pure receiver will offset his need to gain weight to be an All around TE in terms of getting on the field to contribute.
A kid that young and tall, throwing up 335 on a power clean, is pretty **** impressive, IMO. Not to mention the fact that he didn't get all the way up under it to "catch" it. He had to "man" that bar up from about mid chest. With cleaner technique, you looking at a kid that could possibly throw up 350. That's grown man strength! This kid spend 2-3yrs years in a college S&C program, look out. If everyone is honest, there probably ain't too many D1 High school kids his size, slingin that kind of weight around.A clean is a pretty typical football lift. For Brock let say the kid is 220. He’s listed at 6-4
A clean at 335 is solid imo. It’s tougher when you’re taller and have longer limbs like that and he’s a young kid
Sometimes people (imo) get too horny over powerlifting moves as if it automatically translates into good football players. It’s usually dudes that show up to the gym bringing a microwave and potted plants and lawn chairs because they sit on their fat asses for 6 hours talking to everyone
Yeah I think it’s a good sign because his highlights to me were him just absolutely MUGGING much smaller kids. So it’s like well is he actually strong or just looks strong compared to comp?A kid that young and tall, throwing up 335 on a power clean, is pretty **** impressive, IMO. I am going to perform my first ever deadlift next week. I will send you video of the guy who is training me doing his. If you approve of it, I will let you know it’s actually me. If you disapprove, I will let you know I’ve already fired him.A clean is a pretty typical football lift. They got you doing these basically from the time you start lifting for football. i knew he would get the comp because hes white and both are named Brock but.........Yeah I think it’s a good sign because his highlights to me were him just absolutely MUGGING much smaller kids. So it’s like well is he actually strong or just looks strong compared to comp?
I see people already saying Brock Bowers so I can already see how this is going to go horribly for the young man
Big fan though so far
I get it that fans are idiots and can’t help themselvesi knew he would get the comp because hes white and both are named Brock but.........

Bowers got up in that 240-245 range for draft...dont think he ran but he likely was in the 4.6 range at that with a ridic vert.
*Click the first video on Schott profile and that is when he became my fav in the class and that is last spring he has grown since then. Whatever they did with him out in Indy he looked overly legit then and was instantly my #1 te in the class. Him and Kiotti Armstrong were my top two. And i highly doubt there are more than 10 tes in n out of breaks like him.
