Tampa Plant OL set to decide on July 17th

As stated, it is still early as many will emerge as the season goes on at OL. Second option, and one that will be used unless a bunch of underclassmen step up, is going the Juco route. This is a legit topic of concern though.

Concern yes but not like hawaiiCane is acting. everytime we get a commit he says stop with recruiting( insert position here) and get OL.

Plant rising senior offensive tackle, Richy Klepal has verbally committed to Florida State University. Klepal is the #1 rated offensive tackle in the BCP coverage area. At 6-5/280 lbs, he was somewhat of a late bloomer. Klepal did not receive his first offer until after the 2011 state championship game. 20 plus verbal offers later, Klepal said he felt most confortable with FSU, the team and the coaches.

Offers: Miami, Georgia, Tennessee, USC, West Virginia, Minnesota, Florida State, Michigan State, Indiana, Iowa State, South Florida, Central Florida, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Missouri, Illinois, North Carolina, Duke, Purdue, Rutgers, Miss. State, Arizona, UCONN

Plant head football coach, Robert Weiner had plenty to say about how Klepal developed as as football player. “Richy has really excellerated his play. From the beginning of the year last year, to the playoffs. He started to play, you look at the body, 6 foot 5, 285lbs, you wonder can he run and bend? That’s what you gotta know as a lineman. He started to play like that guy as we got into some games versus some good people. That’s when he really started to become a college candidate.”

One reason Klepal came on strong towards the end on the 2011 season is partly due to the offensive scheme plant runs. “In our offense that kind of lineman really gets showcased. Kind of like a back does or a receiver or a quarterback because we have a lot of plays where that guy gets out into space. You get the big splash plays for a lineman. So he has a lot of those as well.” ~ Robert Weiner

How does the Plant head football coach feel about the FSU commitment, “He has come along way and has really worked hard to become a leader on our team. I think it [FSU] will be a great thing for him. We have had some guys over the past couple of years at Florida State. It has been a real good fit for them. I know he will be real excited to play for Coach [Jimbo] Fisher and Coach Trickett (FSU OL coach). Should be a great opportunity.”
