Talk lately has me a little nervous about 2020 football season. Thoughts?

Do you think we will play football in 2020?

  • Poll closed .
Not likely, some states have already said they are done for 2020 with such events. A ton of variables, most of which weigh against there being fans at games in October, if they even have games.

Picture this, they play a game with no fans, Team A vs Team B, then 10 days later a player form Team A shown symptoms and tests positive. Now since then Team A and Team B have played Team C and Team D the Saturday after.

CHAOS ensues
I’m with you man. Safety first.

Here's Tesla's claim.

There was an entertaining blow up this weekend between Musk and CNN. I guess CNN pushed a story that California hospitals never received Ventilators from Tesla. And then Musk went at CNN.

Lazy journalism by CNN, no doubt, but those were actually not Ventilators. They were cpaps and bipaps. Still very generous, but quite a bit of difference in cost

Why not? Limit the capacity for social distancing. Take everyone's temperature at the door, etc. If they study it and offer a substantial plan. Might seem like a viable option ....
But I do see empty stadiums as the jump off point.
Empty stadiums at a minimum. I don’t think taking temperatures is enough to protect locker rooms from infecting each other and other teams.

Your last sentence is my signal to leave this conversation.
it should be if you feel bad for people here illegally I would rather not talk at you either

So the "ventilators" weren't actually ventilators? That's why it's so fcking hard to trust anything these days. Too many people are so **** loose with their words in an attempt to get themselves over.

If you can't see the difference between being anti illegal immigration, which I am, and having no respect for human life unless they meet your self created worthiness level...then you're just sad.

Honestly, I'm not sure if cpaps and bipaps are technically considered "ventilators". I do know the hospitals requested high-end ventilators.

Normally ventilators have a tube that filters and traps pathogens. Cpaps and bipaps have face masks and they do not trap anything.

When covid first hit Washington State, the emergency field crews were using cpaps in the field, and that was basically pumping the virus out into the air from the patient and possibly infecting others. So it's obviously not the best tool for the job.

Hey man. Hope you're staying up.

Do you think Miami (Fla.) should be the faves to win the division?

Even with Lashlee and King I'm still skeptical that 'The U' will ever be good.

We have stunk since we became 'The U' and must return to being referred to as The Miami Hurricanes.

It worked for USC. They pleaded for the nation to cease calling them 'Southern Cal' and people listened.

Is anybody making Canes masks? Looks like we might be wearing them in the stands. I say the season starts sometime in October and we play a full season with no bye weeks. Lots of rescheduling to do. Here will be no vaccine anytime soon but we will have treatments that will reduce mortality rates. Remember there is still no hiv vaccine 40 years later.

I bought a couple on Etsy but hard to find now

Based on the data, then we shouldn’t play football during flu season either. I’m assuming empty stands of course. I’m just talking about players in empty stadiums.

For young healthy fit young men this might actually have a lower death rate than some of the prior flu seasons we have had, especially I believe 2017–2018.

So it’s not really safety first, it’s optics first.

But I think you and gooner are right, one player gets it, and it’ll throw the whole thing into chaos.
