Taking L's to the cornball.

I’ve been trying to tell people since he was hired that Taggart is no joke.

Dude might be corny but he’s **** competent.

Our definition of competent is different. He’s 47-50 as a Head Coach.

That being said, he’s not a bad recruiter.

He's 47-50 with no conference titles and 0-1 in bowl games. Which part of the history is good?

That’s incredibly misleading.

He took over some **** programs and by the time he left each there had been significant improvement.

So did Al Golden. What's your point?

What’s your point?

Because Al Golden had a similar career trajectory to him that means they’re the same type of coach?

You, who are intimidated by a coach for no reason other than he made terrible teams average, can't be taken seriously. The evidence that you're relying on is that Taggart COULD be good rather than that he IS good. And if you want to play the sample size game, Golden has a better record and more division titles in an arguably worse situation.

There’s no intimidation here.

I think that FSU will be worse under Taggart than they were under Jimbo. I just don’t think they’re going to be the dumpster fire many on here are predicting.

Taggart’s stellar recruiting will get them at least 8-9 wins a year. Anything more than that will depend on his coaching.

free op. can't be banning people for posting an objective observation like that.

Fair enough but what you opened with is that Taggart is good and I'm pointing out that there really isn't a reason to think that yet.

Well at least you acknowledge that.

nobody is a bad recruiter at FSU

He had put together the best class in Oregon history before he left.

I said he was quite competent.

There’s a difference between very competent and very good.

Relax. Briggs was going to FSU even if Yucko the Clown was their Head Coach. Nothing to brag about for Urkel. He’ll be gone in 3-4 years.

By your definition are Coker, Shannon, and Golden very competent?

Golden was competent as a CEO, not as a coach.

The other two were completely incompetent in every regard.

If Alfred James Golden can fall in any category of competent for you for anything and by extension that applies to Taggart then I feel very good that FSU hired him then.

Lol of course you’re in here with your gloom

There’s no gloom, just evidenced based opinions.

His history tells us that Taggart is good. I don’t see why this is hard to acknowledge.

Your history tells us you’ll be band soon,

If that's the case it will be no fault of my own.

I haven't made one "troll" post since returning.

So to summarize, Samuel and Meadows were committed to FSU for 8000 years. Both kids we never really went after until December. Goss was an Auburn commit and Peters was a UK commit too.

So how did we "lose" them? How can you lose something you never had in the first place? Something we don't really need (Goss, Meadows, Peters) or want (Samuel)? Briggs is the only true loss here. And most saw it coming in December. Obviously the coaches saw it too given how they redoubled their efforts on Chatman, Coburn, and now Miller.
