* Asked if the team is where he wants it to be strength-wise or if adding more strength is still needed, Swasey said, "You're going to always want to be stronger. I know we reached that goal with 41 and 11 [over 40 players doing 20 or more reps of 225 and over 10 players doing 30 or more reps], but me personally I want to go even better. I want to get 50 and 20. I'm going to keep striving for the stars. Why not?"

Golden has revamped Swasey's career and I think you can see a little more excitement coming from Andreu.

Swassey is doing exactly what we need to make us a stronger team. Hopefully the times of getting pushed all around the field is over.

I love the fact Golden will never be satisfied. Complacency started creeping into this program in 2002 and it was like the Ebola virus

Swasey is a puppet and is only as good as his head coach. He has no ideas or plans of his own.

I don't understand that at all. The first part of that article talks about the team eating 1,500 calories for breakfast every day. Amazingly, they're gaining weight and looking more like they're supposed to look. Did the team eat like that under Butch Davis, and then Coker and Shannon came in and said, "No, I don't want them eating well. I don't want their diet monitored."?

I think when Golden took over he said that the team did not have a nutritionist on staff previously.

it was more of the players eating taco bell and other **** food and not working out properly. you can workout and not actually WORKOUT. going through the motions doesn't get it.

Not to be glib, but I believe that's exactly what happened simply by Coker and Shannon's failure to monitor and enforce dietary and weight room habits. It's the difference between telling a player "you need to eat better" and "if you're not at the number we want you at, you will not play."

still want to see this on the field...Neb and OK have always had GYM rats and monsters..yet we kicked their asses...lets hope they play stronger and not chase people around......

Nebraska and Oklahoma didn't have South Florida fast twitch muscle fiber gym rats :)

being stronger doesn't mean slower.... stronger means less fatigue late in a game. stronger means not being pushed around like a rag doll all game long. you think jimmy didnt have those guys in the gym busting *** in the off season??? remember pre 2002 this team actually had pride and wanted to excel. when the choker and corch regime were in place it was a country club atmosphere pool days eat whatever and party. work ethic wasn't a very high priority.
