Supposedly interviewed for a on field position at bama.... richt come on hire him if he’s available. Move is there to be made

Would rather have rumph at cb and surtain coaching the safety position. Move Banda to linebacker and special teams coordinator giving him a raise

Our boy Ibis Wingz said Sr. would not move his family to that place. Probably a courtesy interview to keep them happy.

Former NFL cornerback Patrick Surtain was interviewed for Alabama’s defensive backs coaching position before the Crimson Tide filled the position with Karl Scott.

Literally the next line in the story.

Wow. Would seem a pretty good bet that they get him then.

IMO he's the kind of talent you make this kind of move for.

Wow. Saban power move to get the AH kids. It's safe to say he feels threatened by Miami. Surtain must've not guaranteed AH kids would come to Bama or Saban didn't believe he could get them there.

Supposedly the entire Surtain family is going up for the visit this weekend too. mom, dad, sister, grandma. Saban leaves no stone unturned.

Shortest interview in history: “Can you deliver your son and Campbell, and would you mind being DB Coach in name only as Sabag runs the DBs completely? If the answer is yes you’re hired.”

Surtain: “can’t guarantee Campbell.”

Sabag: “ok. Thanks.”

Karl Scott hired 5 minutes later.

richt should have moved banda to special teams, and hired surtain as safeties coach. even if it didn't guarantee Jr, having Surtain, Sr as a coach on the staff would still be a plus

**** bruh. Just when you thought you have it won Alabama resorts to dirty tricks. If they can't get a kid using money then they use their family to get the kid by bribing them with money or giving a fam member a job on staff.

They were gonna try to secure Surtain Jr. commitment using his dad then give him some bullshet position.

I hope this actually turns them off.

If he actually interviewed then how would it turn him off?

Because he didn't get the job.

Nah. They were more than likely using each other. Lil Nicky tosses a favor to/tries to ingratiate Pops by giving him an interview. Pops has no intention of taking the job anyway and moving himself to Podunk but gets the resume boost of having been "in the running" for a job at mighty Alabamy.

In a dream world, Lil Nicky actually offers the job to Pops (even though he doesn't really want him for the job but wants Junior).....and Pops takes the job.....but Junior commits here.
