I know this may sound real stupid & tender footed to most. But recruitingiven has become a different beast then when I played or several of the dudes on this site who played as well. Other than for E none of us had the Internet being such a big chip. Now kids & their friends & families get on these things & read everything possible about them & the schools their serious about... I'm saying all this cause like plenty of other schools that are going through tough times we have a very critical fan base. Please try to remember recruits & current players get on here on a regular & read this stuff. I'm embarrassed that I just had to have a conversation with three five star kids (kids being the operative here)who all grilled me in particular about this site & why should they be so quick to buy in if a fan who has nothing on the line can't have simple faith... We gotta show a positive front here yall. We want our team back where it's supposed to be than realize the 12th man is real. & it's not just at the stadium on GameDay. It's 24/7 365. Bye the way Gilbert isn't going anywhere. My bad I put this in recruiting

Not surprising
 
I get that the negativity of the fans can get to some recruits as they want to go where they are loved, but it happens with every program. I can't even comprehend the meltdown that would go down on a Bama board if they had lost to Texas A&M this week.

The issue is Miami has not been a dominant force like most of the posters here have experienced Miami being dominant. There has been a decade of underachieving and well, the fans have the right to express frustration. The reason Miami fans are so emotional and outspoken about the situation is because we know what we are capable of, we understand the talent we have had and we have continued to underachieve.

People like to point fingers, but realistically it happens with every fanbase but when Miami does it, it gets highlighted just like everything else we do. At the end of the day, if a recruit makes the decision to not attend Miami because of a message board then.....well I don't have an answer for that...

Smh. Once again, we are the worst site out there? Some recruits are so thin skinned. You ever read swamp gas or warchant? They are worse.

Then October 2017 comes around and we can't wait for 2018 to come along. This **** is just a never ending cycle of mediocrity..it sucks man

Of course everyone else does it. Not really sure why grown men can't comprehend this but all the people we keep comparing ourselves to in the pursuit of 5 star & other impact recruits they're all elite or **** close to elite programs... kids have been alive & seen with their own eyes all these other schools were fighting with. We're asking these kids to believe in the vision of what we're supposed to be & will be with them on board cause all we have to go off of is a snobbish spoiled fan base & newspaper clippings or 30 for 30 specials which can be taken either way. So when a kid sees bama go into meltdown they understand it cause of the product they see on the field. Let's try to let go of the victims mentality that so many people use throughout life. We're Canes & we want to be back to putting people in the right place than let's do our part(s)& support or squad.

People seem to forget that this is a public forum and people generally care if you talk **** about them in public and disparage their abilities and character with very little information to go on. It's not particularly complicated.

It's ok to care, but there's a difference between caring and just spouting highly negative bull**** about people you've never met and know very little about.

One difference is warchant / swamp are pay sites if I'm not mistaken. This site is easy to get on and easy to read and post, for free.

I can understand upset fans however, in the past it was for no commitment from the school and hanging on to a sorry a.. coach. Now they are paying real coaches, getting an IPF, and generally supporting the team like they havn't since before Shalala. So the offense has struggled and defense is decimated. Still, kids are playing hard and even in defeat they are more fun to watch then in years. Give the guy at least a year to get the O going and see if he makes changes if he can't get it going. Obviously he can't make changes immediately to satisfy our needs after 3 bad weeks of football. We still have old talent and the guys he did recruit have proven to be pretty **** good on both sides of the ball. Support this team if you wan't them to ever be anything again. Thank god JJ and Butch didn't haul *** after 1 year of bad play otherwise who knows where we are today. Maybe we never got even that 2nd Championship
 
the mods and owners of this site should do a better job. they use the site on social media to promote itself as well as potential recruits, but then don't make sure to keep the level of negativity or childishness on the board down. what sense does that make? basically invite fans, recruits, coaches, etc to this site only to let the front page be overrun with 20 negative threads after each loss/game.

it doesn't matter if we're "worse" than warchant or whatever other fan site.
 
@d money that's real. I understand neutrality & trying to be objective & let people express themselves. However we at a crossroads my brother. We gotta do our parts. Is there anyway you can get with staff etc & maybe Crack down a Lil? I'm not trying to start nothing. I hope you know that. If you'd like Pete has my # or you can dm me & I'll send it to you so I can explain the situation. Luckily with these particular kids I got a Lil say so. But do we ever wanna purposely be in a position where we're knowingly negatively affecting our team? Of course not. I don't have all the answers but a Lil brainstorming is in order.
