Substance v. Appearance

Breath of fresh air, that's for sure. I am SICK of having a catchy slogan every year. Sick of chains and rings and any other trinket you can think of. I want my team to work harder than the other team, so when the time comes, they beat the other team.
Theres nothing wrong with having that. Every coach has slogans in the building and almost every college team has some gimmick after a big play.

When you are down 25 and celebrate with that gimmick, the gimmick that was supposed to be motivational has turned into a joke. It would be the equivalent of Gronk spiking the football when the Bucs are down 30.

If your team is celebrating with a gimmick when you are losing bad, they care about the gimmick more than the score and thats awful. Like DBs celebrating a broken up pass even tho they were burned toast and the QB missed the receiver.

Saban explained it perfectly when it came to the culture he is trying to build: He does not care about the result, he cares about the process. Good process leads to good results but there wont be good results if there is no good process.
And Golden had books and pillars. Just ******* win! And then win again! And again and again!

I guess I saw too much of it when we were getting drubbed by the scrubs. Now I'm as anti-dance as an Amish elder who accidentally walked into a club. ;)

I get your point, though. I want them to have fun. I just want them to have fun winning.
Yeah, people forget how hard those teams worked to earn that dancing. In fact, I sometimes think people believe the dancing makes the winning happen instead of the other way around.

Same way they thought the turnover chain caused turnovers, or TD rings caused TDs. Hard work, maximum effort, and good coaching yield results.

Nah I’m okay with then dancing, to an extent anyway. These are kids and they should be able to have fun. And that’s what made me fall in love with this team way back when. We’re gonna kick your @ss, have fun AND let ya know it
That's just it, most of us, if not all of us, are fed up with the dancing when it was being done on the sideline while LOSING to FIU. Before I see anymore dancing, learn how to and execute the "we're gonna kick you @ss" portion of your statement.

To be fair the guys were in shape and never quit, most of of their shortcomings were from the sidelines…if you get my drift.
