Stephen Ross to Fund Stadium Renovations

This sounds like a bid to keep UM at SunLife, coming as it does just a few weeks after all the rumors about UM perhaps joining in on Beckham's stadium plans.

Either way, this is good news for UM. If Ross does fund renovations, I'm sure moving the seats closer to the field will be on the agenda, as will a host of other things. If his plans fall through, UM can still entertain a partnership with Beckham.

he should have funded it for the first place, hope he still does it after he wastes his money on free agents that wont do **** for his team

This isnt good news this is great news. Obviously this isnt having our own stadium but anyone *****ing about this will never be satisfied with anything.

well with all the money in Miami/ south beach taxing should be no issue....we have soccer stars wanting to re-locate stadiums here...Miami Heat NBA champs...Miami is dripping money...taxpayers should see this as a chance to further invest in their great city.....

Not so fast, my friends.

He would fund the $350 Million renovation, but only if he doesn't have to pay $4 Million in property taxes to the county every year.
Lulz. Always a string attached. He's not renovating ****. Doesn't care for the dolphins or canes. **** him

So he wants the same treatment that the Heat and others get and that is a problem?

Just because you add additional seats on the field does not mean the current seats will be any closer to the field. This is putting lipstick on a pig.

For those interested, visit this site and mouse over the "football" and "proposed football" links. It gives you a pretty good idea what will happen to the seating. Upper deack will lose some seats, but nobody will be closer to the field in the upperdeck.

Interesting look.

Lower seating would be closer to the field. It would make gameday experiences much better. crowd noises will be louder. Do want.

Watch the politicians still fight it over the property taxes. Vote them all out if they resist.

I hope it falls through. Every year we remain in this stadium -- regardless of the configuration or the toiletries -- is a disaster.

The idiots can't be allowed to make the big decisions. The idiot mentality is the stadium is in a nice location because of the proximity to season ticket holders in Broward and Palm Beach. Another idiot rationalization would be no need to pursue our own place because our current home just received an expensive patchwork.

Even if there's no breakthrough for another decade or so, that's markedly preferable to being stuck in the dump for another two decades or more. I'm willing to gamble on patience.
