Should we start Zaqaun

I'll preface this with I am not thrilled about our safety play and think it is a weakness.

That said, I am not really in the camp that believes this staff will play certain guys to their own (and the team's) detriment. We can think they are wrong if they feel our current starters are better, but I also don't think anyone here knows that without a high degree of speculation.
 
if we play our current safeties in more zone looks I think they are the best options. None of them are capable of man coverage on this team.
Now if we are debating who is better in single high in 1/3 and who should/could play robber I think we can have a legitimate debate

idk -- prob gave his word to transfers but I was thinking bench Harris for zaqaun
 
I think its a case of them not playing him because of the risk they may have. with the amount of the mistakes our safeties have been making there shouldn't be any excuse why he's not in. Zaqaun has that IT factor, he's HIM. his instincts are far superior then any db we have on the team or probably the country when it comes down to being in the game and making plays.

I won’t start Zaquan per se but he’d be getting a lot of burn in the upcoming games. I will also like to see markeith out there…

Hahaha it’s crazy huh! I think our whole defense need to keep its eyes disciplined and no try and take the hero ball bait. We are over pursuing, not setting the edges and not playing complimentary football, and we still 6-0. We will be aight we just gotta tighten up
 
He doesn’t have to start, but the starting safeties especially Harris don’t need to be taking all the snaps because he’s not it

It’s obvious why Powell took another shot at CFB instead of Sundays coming off a national champion runner up team. He’s limited. But he is the brain connecting the back end for now.

I’d expect Zaquan to make plays Meesh can’t as an athlete. But would the DBs as a unit be better off without Powell? Who is the leader on the back end if it’s not Powell?

If someone wants to argue Zaquan has such a higher ceiling you live with the inevitable busts or confusion with calls and adjustments, I’ll hear you out. But I think we need one experienced veteran because outside of DPJ it’s a raw group.

Start?? Dude barely gets any reps as it is and you’re asking if he should start the next game?
I could understand where you were coming from if Z was showing out and playing extremely well with the limited reps he’s currently getting. But dude barely sees the field. What makes you think he’s ready to start right now? Especially with Brohm and company waiting on deck.

This secondary is really bad and Patterson, although might be part of the solution in the future, isn’t going to fix it now.

If Mario made a colossal blunder it was going into this season not addressing the issue with the portal.

Always going to bring him up, biggest loss since Dalvin Cook. Would be like Bama getting Rueben Bain.......that has a lasting effect on the program and it might bite us in the ***. You have to have elite play makers like that where they inspire young kids in sfla. How many kids are going to watch him and become OSU fans? He has that type of effect imo
