If he’s not starting, I am guessing it’s because he’s worse than the current starters. I don’t think Cristobal has any loyalty to Meesh Powell that would prevent him from playing someone better at that position.

man i hope not.. but Mario hasn't been afraid to give the freshmen playing time so I'm not sure why Zaquan isn't getting more reps besides "he's not ready"...

Think we're asking for trouble starting a true freshman at safety against Louisville with all the misdirection they do. If we make a change I hope it's Markeith for Harris. I'd like to see Zayquan get more PT, but don't think starting him next week is a good idea.

Zero reason why a true freshman cant start.

I'm all for replacing our safeties IF (BIIIIG IF) the replacement(s) will be better. I haven't seen Zaquan in practice. I don't know if he knows wtf he's supposed to do in all the different situations. In time do I think he will be the guy? Yes. Is it right now? Ehhh, I'm not sure. Odds are high that a player with multiple seasons under his belt (Meesh and Harris) know the system, the calls, the switches, etc far more than Zaquan at this point. Again, I don't KNOW because I'm not on the staff nor at practices. If Zaquan DOES know those things, then it's a different story.

I'll never understand the knee-jerk reaction of some fans who always think the solution is to play the backup. They're backups for a reason.

We literally have a starting true freshman cornerback in the rotation

But I guess it’s just easier to keep *****ing for the backups
