Staff assembled?

This is not toward anyone in particular, but we as a fan base have some odd obsession with retaining staff from a failed regime. I don’t quite understand it lol I’d much rather move on completely from people who failed. Not saying it’s all their fault but we do not need to retain anyone.
We had some major recruiting wins with the current staff. I think it would be a good idea to identify those responsible for bringing in guys like James and Avante and our receivers and Leonard Taylor and consider keeping them around.

How long does it usually take for a staff to be assembled and announced?
Depends on your targets. If the guys you're looking at are currently prepping for bowl games or in the NFL it could take a minute.

If people knew the coaching names that has reached out to UM they would need to go the ER for an erection lasting longer than December.
I can think of a few NFL DCs but never know how they would fare in recruiting. Hopefully it's someone young.

So im trying to decode Cribby-speak.....

Longer than December : potentially an NFL guy who is interested so all positions might not be filled until then?

I was told Schuman is an absolute beast. A lab tat. People around their program think highly of him.

Can speak to that personally. Worked along side him for 3 years. He is a special mind when it comes to X and O’s. He has been under Kirby’s wing since like 2009 and learned a ton from him. His father is also a long time successful coach, it’s in his blood.

I know I have been probably the biggest proponent on this board of hiring someone with experience for our coordinators but I would be okay with Schumann as our DC. He has learned from 2 of the best to ever do it on that side of the ball. Not just X and O’s, but recruiting too. He is young, he is elite on the trail, he knows modern day defenses and isn’t an old stubborn guy that is stuck in his ways. I personally think the ceiling is so so so high with him and he knows first hand what an elite CFB defense is supposed to look like and has been a crucial part of so many. He was going to get his shot either way, and Mario knows what he can do first hand as he was on the same staff as him for his time at Bama. Our LB core would be unreal and it would be NIGHT AND DAY under him. I would be for it. I know him personally and know what he is capable of and I truly believe that he is a star.

Side note...
The last coach to get their first shot at DC after leaving that Saban tree was Pruitt back in 14. His first year as DC, he thrived with FSU. Their defensive was aggressive, multiple, tough, disciplined and they won the natty that year. Just something to keep in mind.
