David Lake said he doesn't see a starting QB on the roster besides Beck. He did admit maybe it's unfair to judge Nickel this early but that's just how he sees it now.

Apparently the QB’s were horrible today.

judd is really bad and Emory isn't that great either - really unfortunate to not have decent QB play for the spring. Luke looks good but wont be ready this year but I'd throw him in there before those 2

JoJo and Toney were crushing the 1 on 1's - both Elite
again JoJo is just as smooth as a Justin Jefferson

Blay and Scott are going to be monsters for us and Josh Moore definitely getting alot of PT this year too

Didn't Dawson sign off on Emory

He signed his LOI in December 2022, Dawson was hired in February 2023.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Hetherman's scheme is simpler and more aggressive with some great zone concepts mixed in. That plus the caliber of teaching from the new staff and I'm very bullish on the 2025 defense. The transformation of our secondary and the emergence of 2nd year players like Justin Scott and Armando Blount certainly don't hurt. If we could just get a LB or 2 to step up or add one in the portal.

I personally think we're very close. But I'm beating a dead horse here in saying we need a playoff caliber LB and DT to ensure the defense stops losing games and starts winning them for us. The real question is will those two guys become available in the portal and can we land them if they do. To paraphrase Matt Damon from The Martian, "Mario's gonna have to [back channel] the **** out of this".
