Spring PractiSe 2- Wednesday March 5

Some notes from 247:

-Safeties and nickels are working on their communication and alignment when offenses motion receivers or tight ends. Poyser doing a great job in this drill.
-On half field 7v7:

-Quickly getting chippy on LOS. Tough to gauge without pads but offensive line doing a good job getting push on DL
-Trader burns Karnley deep. Nice ball from Emory. Dylan Day picks off Judd Anderson on a bad read

Minor scuffle breaks out ignited by some big time physicality from Bobby Pruitt

Good energy with the offensive line vs defensive line during inside run drill…much calmer now with special teams work

I disagree. I don't think McCoy is so much better than anyone else on the roster right now that you'd put him as a chalk heavy favorite to win the job. He might. But I think he'll be pushed, whereas I don't think the other 4 are going to get much push from now until Notre Dame.

If you think McCoy is going to start, that's cool. I won't disagree with that. But saying it's not even a discussion like for example Mauigoa being the RT isn't a discussion, or Cooper being the RG isn't a discussion....simply untrue.

I think there's a big difference in our OL with McCoy in that LG as opposed to RR. McCoy is a beast, RR is a serviceable guy who should be part of the rotation. I could be wrong but we'll see how it plays out.

This was something I wanted to see attacked IMMEDIETELY. Was basically a guaranteed big play anytime the opposing offense went motion against us.

From
Gaby:
-When they went good on good, Miami’s offensive line won the drill, opening up a nice hole for Jordan Lyle up the middle

-Markel Bell got some work at left tackle today

-Justin Scott and Armondo Blount are two defensive linemen who flashed. Blount stuffed a run while working at defensive end, and Scott was able to generate some penetration from the interior.

-Pruitt needs to add some weight but he’s wired the right way. High-level competitor.

-Freshman linebacker Kellen Wiley is a physically impressive linebacker, and he showed off some of his athleticism when he climbed the ladder and snagged a pass during interception drills.

-Zechariah Poyser is clearly the best-looking safety out there. He’s got size and length and it’s clear he moves well and is instinctual.

Wasn't Karnley's grade pretty bad last season? Usually when I hear positives about him, it's about his measurables.
You're exactly right, his measurables is why he got recruited by a lot of top schools in the portal window. I'm just noting that most people on here will already write him off because he got beat on a rep in warmups
