Go to where they talk about him.I’m not questioning the validity of what you wrote, but where did you get those numbers? PFF?
This is not some set up for a gotcha/zinger. I’m honestly curious and I’m kind of a nerd when it comes to numbers.
This is what I feel as well…no drop off at either spot in this scenarioIn this case, Ethan O'Connor comes off the bench.. I'm not arguing with you (this is a good problem) but I don't think there are 2 better CBs on the roster better than him
Between OJ and a healthy Brown, and our transfer additions (O'Connor, Poyser, Lucas, and Brantley) we will have a legit competition in out DB room.
To me, if Xavier Lucas can play SS/Star/Boundary Safety (whatever you want to call it) this defense could be special.
I think/hope we start the season looking like this..
CB - O'Connor
CB - OJ
SS - Lucas
FS - Poyser
Nickel - Brantley
The one with the least expensive NIL deal.So between OJ Lucas and O’Connor who’s sitting the bench at outside corner
OJ?The one with the least expensive NIL deal.
I could see one of them playing nickel. So between OJ Lucas and O’Connor who’s sitting the bench at outside corner
I would bet he got a raise this offseason
I was thinking that tooI would bet he got a raise this offseason
Based off skill set I think Brantley fits nickel best out of the corners but I think OJ could play it tooI could see one of them playing nickel.
So then what do you do with Brantley? It’s a good problem to have though.I could see one of them playing nickel.
OJ and Lucas starting beside each other would make Macho proud.
Hetherman eluded to cross training guys to play different spots...a "position-less" defense he said. CB's getting reps at Safety and vice versa. LB's learning the Mike and Will. This is something I've been doing for a few years and it's greatly beneficial, particularly when you have a bunch of athletes with similar skill-sets and abilities. It helps you get the best-11 on the field at all times regardless of position. Also helps you in a pinch, if guys get hurt, tired or you're simply just trying to create depth.
In order to accomplish this, the defense must be relatively simple to learn/run. This is a good thing. If the kids pick it up fast it'll give Hetherman the ability to shuffle pieces.
If damari brown wants to see the field he’s gotta go to safety. Probably his best spot anyways. Cause we have 3 corners better than him now
HE WAS SMACKIGN SH*T ALL LAST YEAR ONSPECIALS...HIM AND HAYES.I’m old enough to remember the days when guys would do great on special teams, stick around, and then contribute heavily the next year
It’s something every college player should learn to play because most of them if they ever want a shot at playing in the NFL will have to play special teamsI’m old enough to remember the days when guys would do great on special teams, stick around, and then contribute heavily the next year
