It’s all good because I think it’s missing a lot of context what I said anyway. Been saying we need at least 1 LB in the portal so instead of trashing the whole room and starting over was more hoping we could get something out of the guys we’ve got as well

I’m a LB at heart and I think I shed some real life tears watching us last year
Just admit you can't cover WR1 on deep post after trying to sack the QB in the same play.

Put it this way brother

In that video, he’s teaching these guys the same thing Nicholson was teaching.

He’s not some savant teacher.

The guys that are here are not that good. Eye disciprine is a skill. Most of these guys don’t have it outside of Popo and a few guys.
What video?

I can verify that the LB's are NOT being taught the same things as the last staff. First off, the position coach doesn't decide how the LB's are going to be taught, the DC does.
The LB's under Hetherman are being taught completely different techniques on how to defend the run. Even their alignments are completely different.

Some individual drills may be the same because they're not scheme specific...
But the actual teaching points are completely different. From a schematical standpoint we're doing the same thing Georgia does with their LB's.

@Coach Macho in addition to schematics and technique, do you see a change in the level of attention to detail and quality of coaching? To me, Guidry was too hands off. I felt like he put too much responsibility on the players, wasn't down in the muck coaching them up enough. Everything I read and see so far about Hetherman is he's more like a Parcels, very technical in the way he teaches. Wishful thinking?

The DC provides the scheme and expected behavior. The LB Coach decides what drills to teach what is needed for the scheme to work.

That’s the way its worked the places I’ve seen and been associated with.

Ultimately we’ll see how these guys play in this scheme.

You talking about the LBs like there are 2 different coaches but isn't the DC also the LB coach?

Since the DC is the LB coach, safe to assume he’s teaching both scheme and techniques.

Now, if we only had Georgia's LBs
