He started off the season pretty well last year IIRCHe's no Sean Spence but there's hope for him yet.
I know people are taken aback by my Elija Lofton praise, but it's a pretty consistent refrain when you talk to coaches and practice-goers. At least one person in the building believes he's the best running back on the team, on top of everything he does as a TE.
It’s an interesting hypothetical but one factor to consider is the relationship Mario has with Monkey Boy. Schiano was seen at practice last week and by all account serves as a mentor to Mario. That might present an obstacle in back channeling a player from Rutgers.I mentioned the kid from Rutgers earlier because when it comes to options these days you never really know. He could have connections we don’t know about and Miami is a great destination for anyone. We’ve got money. That opens up the options.
Agreed! I moreso was just using it as an example that there’s probably more options out there than people realize given we don’t know Heathermans wants at the position and his connectionsIt’s an interesting hypothetical but one factor to consider is the relationship Mario has with Monkey Boy. Yep, Lofton should be his best friend.Beck has a little TVD in him with taking less sacks and throwing more picks. I hope they can get Lofton involved in the check down game
As long as we get this version of beck we will be fine.Beck has a little TVD in him with taking less sacks and throwing more picks. I hope they can get Lofton involved in the check down game

Beck only did in 2024 because his receivers/RBs and OL were letting him down and he was trying to play hero too much. I said this in another thread earlier this week. His INTs doubled from 2023 to 2024, and y’all should watch the difference in how he was with and without Brock Bowers, Kendall Milton, and Daijun Edwards. They also had a better OL in 2023 (one guy went first round in the draft and I think they lost a couple others too).Beck has a little TVD in him with taking less sacks and throwing more picks. Remember hearing this about 2022 TVDBeck only did in 2024 because his receivers/RBs and OL were letting him down and he was trying to play hero too much. Point is, if y’all are only looking at 2024 Beck, it’s a poor comparison as to what to expect at Miami as he will have much better protection and HOPEFULLY will not still have those habits in his head.
I understand what you're saying, but you have to be careful with that; those undersized 5'10 and 6'0 guys, according to experts, probably had no business being on a decent D-1 team. Yet they were here in Miami because they were better than a lot of those so-called 4- and 5-star guys who were 6'2 and 6'4 but underperforming. There aren't 5'10 and 6'0 guys running around anymore.
And TVD never broke the bad habits. That’s why I included the last sentence of my post with regard to Beck’s future.Remember hearing this about 2022 TVD
I'm not a highlight reel guy. Show me his 4th quarter reel.
Bowers and MonkenAnd TVD never broke the bad habits. That’s why I included the last sentence of my post with regard to Beck’s future.
But the point of my first paragraph still stands. To get the full picture of Beck, people need to look at both of his starting seasons. UGA offensively was two completely different teams.
It’s also not 12 seconds.Game is 4 quarters not 1.
Monken left after 2022 season.Bowers and Monken
Stand corrected re OC. He had a good year overcoming Bobo.Monken left after 2022 season.
Edit: Beck has had Bobo as the OC both years that he’s started.
In what world is TVD even remotely close to Carson Beck? Like seriously. Beck is better than him at every aspect of the game of football. Mike Ryan said this last week and he's kind of right; If Beck wasn't injured right now, he'd have less questions about him coming into Miami than Cam Ward did. Every single person on this board was worried about Cam's decision making, his fumbling issues, the level of competition he played in, and some of you even questioned whether he could win the locker room over. This time last year, if you were to ask 10 scouts who was the better NFL prospect, every single one would have probably said Beck. Ward obviously came onto Greentree and proved everyone wrong almost immediately, and is definitely the better qb as of today. You know what helped put Ward on the national spotlight, having one of the best offensive lines, WR rooms and running games in the country. If Beck recovers fully, there is no reason he can't put up video game numbers in 2025 with this offenseRemember hearing this about 2022 TVD
I mean its actual clips from all 4 quarters not just 12 second clipsIt’s also not 12 seconds.
