### There will be subtle changes in UM’s offense: Expect a more controlled passing game (bubble screens, short and intermediate routes) with fewer deep balls. UM will still try to go deep selectively but likely not as much as Stephen Morris did.

### UM loves what freshman running back*Joe Yearby*is going to*add, and coordinator James Coley said there’s a package with both Yearby and Duke Johnson playing together (with one lining up at receiver).

Great! But not to be negative,I'll believe it when I see it ....

Coley is our top recruiter , but last season offensive production
was below average (after Duke injury.)

I hope it part of the speed sweep package (I'm prayer for more creative offensively)

I was not a big fan of the play calling last year. Would have liked to stay with the run a bit more. Certainly would like to see more slants. They are the easiest to throw and run after catch. More slants would have helped Morris last year.

The kid was running for his life almost every snap - and I dont mean on the deep routes --- even in the shotgun he didnt have time

TE's have always been the key to a good UM offense. If the TE position gets 60+ catches this year something will be going right on the offense.

For all the criticism D'Onofrio gets, Coley's play calling last year was nearly as bad. We were explosive with the deep ball (and with Duke's runs), but our play-calling was way too limited and predictable. The o-line was also unable to consistently run block, especially in power situations. Coley is a great recruiter and personality. Here's hoping that his sophomore year will be much improved.

As the season progressed we got figured out, which happens but we never adjusted in order to keep defenses off balance. We allowed opposing DC's to get into a rythm against us. Our Def. Not being able to get off the f@cking feild did not help either.

Not true. Watch the tape. He left the pocket for perceived pressure. Stephen had 0 pocket awareness, presence or movement. If he saw any flash of pressure he bailed. We actually pass protected pretty well last year.

can't throw slants with an erratic quarterback. half of the throws would go to linebackers or safeties.

This last years o line was solid in pass pro. Suspect in short yardage. Decent in run blocking.

Absolutely false. SM had no pocket presence and rarely made multiple reads . Normally he'd make one read, then roll out. Usually ending up in a throw away or run out of bounds.

Furthermore, throwing slants and ins requires the QB to throw over/between backers and underneath coverage guys. That would have been begging Mr Potato to throw an INT last year.

This . The staff was scared of short underneath routes with Morris, high throws across the middle are bad news.

Don't like it..
I'm not a fan of forcing one tactic over another.
Just take what the defense gives you.. If our players are open deep, hit em deep..

That's the key. SM wasn't very good at going through his progressions. He wasn't a true game manager. Hopefully Heaps and/or Kaaya can be.

It's amazing how people blame everything on players. Morris threw a lot of slants under Fisch. I remember one against K St that Walford took way down. Then there was another against ND on that first drive....A bunch actually. So dude plays all ACC under Fisch. We are all excited. We bring in a rookie play caller and it's all the QB's fault? Morris was not great by any means but Coley has a lot to improve on play calling. Some of you are so blinded it ridiculous.

We got too many playmakers who can do special things with the ball in there hands and honestly suspect QBs right now. Would be stupid not to use a controlled passing game until the QBs prove themselves
