Nope, we're so fast right now that we can just say no to guys like Flemming. Don't worry, our big plodders will run crisp routes and if that doesn't make them open, the pass over those midget corners should do the trick. One more run to the boundary, we be good if all else fails.

Wanted to ask, why has their been a de emphasis on speed at Miami? We dont even have skill guys running track anymore, why?

I know RIcht mentioned it when he first got here he was surprised we were slow af.. But it doesnt seem to be a requirement to lock down elite speed guys in our program, heck our philosophy on the field seems to just be milk the clock..

Because we have had consistently bad coaches running archaic schemes for two decades. It worked for Coker for a while bedause of the talent he inherited from Butch.

I think it’s mainly Rumph and his preference for big guys. Corner is the fastest position so when your corners are slow your whole team looks slow.

What about offense, nobody scares a defense on our offense.. Love Deejay but he makes his work by breaking a ton of tackles and great balance.. JT4 has an uncanny acceleration off the line but I would think his long speed would be helped running track, we dont emphasize that anymore, why? I dont even think of anybody else on our offense as FASSST, I guess Wiggins? Seems FIU just bodied him up and he is ineffective..

Its not just the corners..

Exactly bro. Brooks has been there since the summer. No reason for him to not be coached up to play mike and will backer.

Too much emphasis is put on hard working players and not talented players. Make the talent work hard lol.

We have speed on offense. Our skill guys are fast. Thomas, Wiggins, TEs, Harris, Pope, even Harley all have plus speed.

Back 7 is where we are too slow.

Again another example of our coaches being out of touch with modern football

Rumph prefers guys with a similar skill set to him, but when he played, offenses focused more on power football and bigger WRs

Sometimes we were only rushing two...it looked like GR was hanging back and spying....spying a QB who never runs.

Strangest defense I've seen.

We got no pressure on their QB. It used to be we'd tell our four DLs to pin their ears back and just rush the passer.

We had no sacks yesterday.

Glad you said back 7 - there aint no darrin smith out there for us at LB.

And our WRs are marginal fast. We do not have the sort of guys whose speed causes major problems for opposing coaches, imo. Thomas should be, but we haven’t used him right. It’s all just depressing.
