Sources: Yearby to declare for draft

I definitely think he's making a mistake. I don't expect him to be drafted. BUT, as far as our team is concerned, I don't think this is really a loss.

Why is this a mistake?

Because He isn't the type of athlete that is going to shine at the Combine or on his Pro Day (So his draft stock won't improve those days), and he hasn't done enough on tape to be deserving of a top 5 round pick, and lastly and probably most importantly, this RB class is so ******* loaded He'd be lucky to be the 20th ranked RB on most teams boards.

He's going Undrafted. Late 6th or 7th if a team takes a chance on him cause he's a Miami RB.
And actually he should probably be hoping he goes undrafted rather than being taken in the 7th round. This way he can choose which team he best fits, and where he has the most opportunity for PT.

Good for the kid, he has a family to support and another year isn't going to raise his draft stock.

If Mike James can have an NFL career, Joe Yearby can have an NFL career or atleast get a couple practice squad checks.

He got kids and his back is against the wall. Hopefully he can land on a 53 man roster or practice squad and make some change. One of my boys out of USC did that and he made $500k after 3 years and used that for small businesses that are successful. Love Joe...wish he and his family the best.

The thing is, within the next two years I will be posting another vid with Yearby blowing up the NFL just as I did with Hurns. It will have another quote from Belichick saying to another coach, "That guys a football player. Where the fug did that guy come from?"

And yawl killing me with this no degree BS. How many of yawl have degrees? Better question, how many of you all have degrees and are working in the field in which you majored? You know first hand that most jobs requiring a college degree are not paying anywhere close to what Yearby will be making as a minimum during the same first two or three years fresh out of college. Just admit the coaching staff made a bad choice between Gus and Yearby. And you would rather have him back because you are not sold on any of the other RB's. I would buy that before I would you not understanding the difference in pay. Besides he's finishing his Jr year so at the very least he shouldn't have that many credits left from completing his degree anyway so he can always go back.

I just don't understand why he wouldn't transfer to a program like Kentucky, Indiana, Texas Tech, or Cal (one mid level program for each P5 league other than ACC). Yeah he would have to sit out a year but he'd be the A1 guy his senior year, and would have a legitimate shot at getting drafted. I mean does he even have a shot this year? I wouldn't think so.

He's a father, he can't afford to do all that.

I think it's a bigger financial risk for him to go out right now. He's likely not getting drafted, and unless I'm mistaken, he doesn't have his degree yet? There is a pretty decent change he is out of football by next season and won't have his degree to get a job. I hope that's not how it plays out but he's got an uphill battle from here.

I should clarify that ideally he would not go declare early. But given that he apparently has a kid and likely wont be getting too much PT next year ahead of Walton (and maybe not even Edwards) I can understand his decision.
However if he wants any shot at making an NFL roster, he better drastically improve his pass blocking and put in work on special teams. Otherwise he's going to be one of the other dozen juniors that declare early just to find out they should have stayed.

IF he doesn't make a 53 man roster he most likely will get a practice squad check. That's 100k a yr for up to two seasons. Maybe he dresses for a game or two now we're talking more money. It's the right move if he needs money that bad for his family.

I don't know about the first part in regards to "blowing up the NFL" but the 2nd paragraph... preach. People justified Gus taking carries because Yearby blew two blocking assignments lol. Gus runs like a huge *****.
