Some thoughts on the Wake game after rewatch

Lyle is faster, has better balance and better vision.

The stats (avg.) also favor Lyle by a decent margin YTD

Most would argue you need to handicap those stats by the fact Martinez and Fletcher softened up the defense for 2-3 quarters before Lyle came in. The one game we held Martinez out until late and ran with Fletcher early, he dominated. Literally carried 11 defenders into the end zone.
Martinez is very good-Goal line .Pass protection.Receiver. Give him the edge.

Lyle gives us the breakaway threat that Martinez lacks. I'll take the homerun threat . Good problem to have.

I'm not saying you will but this is an argument from a person who would be the 1st person to **** on him next season when he has a 5.4 yd per carry average and "not doing what he's doing now."

He has potential for days but to say he is a better back than Martinez is now is the epitome of CiS. The backups are the best players on the team and the moment they are the starters, they get **** on, and their backups are even better.

Comparing Lyle and Martinez now cannot be done faithfully because it is an apple to pineapples comparison.

If I'm the RB coach...1st couple drives is Fletcher. Martinez for split back formations in with him, but becomes the main runner by the 2Q. Martinez starts the 3rd, Lyle takes over in the 4th, spelled by Ajay.
