Some scrimmage thoughts

Ugh, going to be a long season. Thanks for the report, D$. It's upsetting to hear that the safeties played so poorly, especially after AG has been singing Ray Ray's praises. Still no real playmakers on the DL

D$ there was a report on Canestime about Luther Robinson looking real good at the scrimmage. Thoughts?

I skimmed through the canestime reports after coming here, but couldnt bring myself to fully read them as they seem just too enthusiastic after reading the reviews here and other places. I would expect fluff from UM's site, but not a 3rd party site. Very disappointed; will be happy when my subscription there is up in August.

I still can't figure out why the coaches wanted to move Robinson from DT. We got 3 DTs that have played at least decently and he's one of them. why move a guy from a position of such need? we've seen him play - he's not bad, just not really good either. but better than the other back up options at this point.

Phydeax, with all respect - how much worse doe VT and RR have to play, to play themselves out of a job?

I hear again and again that they are there because they have all this experience. The experience so far had been embarrassing.

I hope Gunter or some hungry freshmen can step up and get the job done. 'Cause we're screwed if these guys continue.

We are so limited at those spots that they play solely bc they are vets
It's sad to see how poor recruiting was the safety spots and this is what we have

We are not going to be a good team defensively. Our quality depth stinks. This is a project, a major project.

You say Gionni Paul was active, did he look like he had better understanding of the defense scheme?

Hard to see from the stands, but he was definitely around the ball.

With all of the talent coming in at DB, couldnt some, like Bush, start out at safety!??

Me and Tano were talking about this. It's a possibility, but I hope it doesn't happen with Bush. I've seen him play safety, and he doesn't have those type of instincts.

Gunter has been playing well at corner but he's another safety candidate.

Great post DMoney, just wondered how about T Howard going to safety. Howard has great instincts and football knowledge and seems on tape to be better at making plays going forward more so then going backwards.

Howard is a corner IMO. Not that big and his feet are his best attribute.
