It's not like various NFL teams are incorporating them into 2 pt conversions or going for it on 4th down...not like the Tampa Bay Rays basically built their entire underfunded franchise based off analytics (if anyone wants to argue this, it's literally my occupation so I've got all day).
The thing is, people are so desperate for that one stat that proves an offense is good/bad and it doesn’t exist. There’s a ton of factors that can skew analytical data. That’s why coaches need to use numbers on a macro level as opposed to focusing on one or two sets of data.
I’m all for using as many metrics as you can rather than the old “gut instinct” but baseball is a completely different animal than football. Mostly due to the fact that baseball is essentially a one vs one game with pitcher and batter.
