Some names to watch before it’s deleted

Stop it. Just stop it.

I made it very clear, a "slurper" is someone who insists that every thing a coach does is correct, even when we lose games we shouldn't lose, etc. Mario has been on the job for 6 weeks. There are no slurpers because no games have been played, it is impossible for someone to support Mario in spite of all the games he has lost because we haven't played any games.

"Mopers" are different, they complain about every aspect of the program. They find something new to complain about once they have lost the ability to complain about the last thing that they complained about.

You are moping. It's not some "oh, but I have valid and informed opinions about the hiring process". You don't. Very few people do, because Mario has kept a tight lid on things. And the Briles stuff is insane-level-bullsh!te.

Candle slept on the offer and decided to stay in his lifelong Ohio backyard. T-Rob Mario'd Mario. But the mopers are going to magnify those things into fatal flaws and program-killing errors.

BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT MOPERS DO. It's not coach-specific. It's a decades-long joyless process of complaining about anything and everything.
I haven't seen one person that's done this (maybe you can find one or two?).

The vast majority of people have bemoaned the slow process, but are impressed with the names that have leaked and are reserving final judgment until hires are made. No one thinks the world is falling or Mario is doomed LMAO

You're building a false boogeyman to attack because you're extremely sensitive, get upset when you hear any "criticism" (any people who have a viewpoint that doesn't amount to cheerleading), and want to shut down any discussion that irritates your delicate sensibilities.

Your obsession with people that don't exist is bizarre. Step away. Go to the gym. Toughen up a bit. Do something.

Sitting with a pile of money, the Best QB in the ACC with a full stable of badass RB/WR building a beast of an Oline. But Mario going on option #3? Something isn’t right.

Ponce would probably do fine… TVD could make a lot of people look good, it certainly wouldn’t be a **** hire though, if it was him I assume we wouldn’t pay him over a mill, and if we spend that money on a big time DC I could live with it.

So the plan is

500,000 OC
3.5 million DC

Bold strategy

No one joined this thread over a month ago to end up with Ponce when the HC needs strong to home run hires on both sides of the ball.

Yet another fake narrative.

How about "you just hired a guy for $8 million per year, let's judge the hiring process at its conclusion, let's judge the recruiting process at its conclusion, and let's judge the first season at it's conclusion" RATHER THAN going insane over hour-by-hour horserace coverage of a process that very few people know anything about, and even the most inside insiders are saying is hard to predict.

Waiting to judge Mario's hires until all the hires are made is NOT "slurping".
Sure, but your incessant rants directed at posters merely questioning the optics of the hiring process and the tediousness of it all fits entirely into my point; people can't voice concerns without condescending comments from people like you; but that's been your schtick recently.

To each his own; it's nothing personal. We disagree on how the process is being dragged out - and Mario doesn't care about you or I, or anyone else for that matter. I won't back down from my point, just like you won't back down from yours. At the end of the day, it's just an opinion.

Well the first two options were tough pulls (assuming Briles was offered).

There are plenty of Briles/Candle types out there that would come here. If he keeps going down that route, we'll end up with a good OC.

there has to be coincidence with the timing of Briles and Candle interest getting leaked with the nfl season close to wrapping up

You might not want to hear it but he looked 3x better under Ponce than he ever did indeed Cutliffe.

And that's the best work Ponce has done...and it's not Miami-caliber; at least it shouldn't be given our supposed list.

Ponce is a good OC, but it would be an underwhelming hire.

I would hope if we do settle on him, we throw the extra money we'll save by not getting a big name on a first class analyst brain trust. Is Cutcliffe interested in spending a few months down here sipping margaritas and game planning? Addazio? Rolovich? Wells? ****, I'd even try and get Fuente in a room to analyze.

If it is Ponce that would actually be pretty hilarious in hindsight...

Considering all the OC’s who were available just a few weeks ago & according to who you believe, we essentially just turned down Kendal Briles...

The most entertaining part will be people suddenly transforming Ponce into the 2nd coming of Jeff Lebby lol

Not aggressive enough. Thinks he walks on water. "Kindest man in the room" syndrome. Biggest signing class was 12, and one was a traitor. Do not want.
Yes, but like the Miami football program risen from the dead so that is a bonus. Overachiever. Knows how to build a dynasty. The 11 were darn good recruiters. Picked up Saul of Tarus in the portal.
