Cramsey just got hired at Memphis 3 days ago.

Yessir, I am aware that he recently moved on to Memphis, but it wouldn't be first time a coach lasted a week or two at new job before jumping. The reason I mentioned Cramsey is because he worked for Mario at FIU and, later, at Marshall Mirabal recommended him to the HC. So there is a familiarity, if not a connection.

**** .. are you kidding? There are thousands of Americans .. both male and female .. who literally cannot tolerate the multi cultural Miami environment for more than a vacation. So many places that you walk into .. all kinds of businesses but especially restaurants .. where English IS the second language .. and Spanish is spoken first. It isn't for everyone. And the congestion .. there are 800,000 more residents in Miami - Dade County today than when I moved there in 1989 .. that's about a 40% increase .. no more roads or cross streets .. just added density. When I moved there and lived on Brickell (year 1 before buying a home in the Gables) there WAS no rush-hour. Now .. a literal rush hour begins around 3:00 PM and continues until 7:00 PM, then drops off to normal congestion. It's crazy.

I’m curios to see who it is, because Mario’s OC hires have never really been slam dunks, so I’m interested in seeing how hard he’s willing to go to hit a homerun.

Most of the names mentioned thus far would be a homerun, so that’s good...

Just gotta cross the finish line sometime before March.

I don't see why that's a bad thing.. Mario wants the right guys, and he's not willing to rush or settle, and if it ends up costing a few recruits, so be it. He's building something much bigger here, and I think a lot of you frankly fail to see that, and are thinking much smaller than him.

I've been saying this for a while but nobody is listening. Instant gratification is the thing now.

What’s the worry?

That we dont end up with coordinators from the A list and that taking so much time (and then missing out on first choice) possibly caused some possible candidates to no longer be available. That dragging it out this long may affect recruiting.

Worry is a bit strong, I was mostly just messing around but I think its fair to feel like handling things this way COULD have a potentially negative effect on the final outcome. I mean, there is probably a reason almost no other school takes this long to fill out that many positions on the staff.

All that said, I think we will end up with a good hire at OC/DC and am still hopefully a couple home runs materialize. Doesnt mean we cant discuss the process and how its being handled. There are no new coaches to talk about, what else are we supposed to do? Already went through the wrestling thing!

I’ve not got anything on that front. When I dug into the candle rumor someone I know did say Lewis would probably take it if he was targeted.

He was surprised Candle got that far along but once it leaked he said he thought he would take it since it made it to that point. So there’s that.

Like I said I laughed when I first heard Candle and Lewis mentioned . Since they were head coaches. That’s before seeing how much they make.

An interesting one is Tyson Helton. There was that "made and stayed" graphic of the coaching and support staff's Florida roots. He is from Gainesville and with a $750k salary could easily and deservedly have it doubled. Not realistic but interesting

Quality of where you live is subjective. Some people like warm weather, some people like cold weather. Some people like city life (myself), some people like the country slow small town life.

I’m from Mississippi born and raised but have lived in Honolulu and now currently in San Diego. Only thing I miss about Mississippi is my family and fishing. California sucks IMO for fishing lakes btw. Lol, that was off topic but I just wanted to complain.
