Saban usually likes his coordinators to stay for at least 2 year before he moves them or they move on. Bama fans wanted him gone last year, I think he would be a good hire here if he wanted to leave bama.

I would absolutely take Golding.

Experienced play caller, worked under Saban, had a nasty defense at UTSA when Saban hired him to Alabama.

Likewise.

Between Schumann, Belk, and Golding, I'm going with Golding. He's led his own D before, and has had success leading his own D. Doesn't hurt that he's another coach with SEC ties either.

He also had a record setting Defense at UTSA, which led him to Bama.

I’ve heard (since 2020 season) that he and Saban might mutually want to go different directions. As far as Miami smoke right now.. no idea.

Alabama isn’t as talented as they used to be and it’s not going to get better next year especially in the trenches… aside from Will Anderson. If we offered a raise and autonomy of the defense that he doesn’t exactly get at Alabama, you never know. I wouldn’t make that move but I’ve never worked for Saban so who knows

His defense was a little shaky by Alabama standards in 2019 and 2020, but bounced back this year and was very good. Shut down some good offenses - Ole Miss, Tenn, Cincinnati.
