I don't know much about Kevin Smith as far as coaching but on paper seems like an absolute home run of a hire. Has the 3rd most rushing yards in a single NCAA season. NFL pedigree. Played at Southridge.

Seems to be a great-to-elite recruiter in the few seasons of experience he has recruiting at a P5 level. They got Zach Evans from TCU just a week ago in the transfer portal. And his recruits over the last 2 years are pretty legit:

I believe he can take credit for Devin Singletary and the success Jerriod Ealy has had.
