I love Ken Dorsey

But come on now, if he played and won a championship at Texas vs Miami, with his current post NCAA resume, your attraction for Dorsey as our next OC would be 1/1,000 of what it is now
I think its the opposite.

Because he's a 'Cane, the fanbase thinks we are slummin'.

LSU grabbed a Sean Payton coffee runner to implement an offense that won them a national championship.

If Miami were looking at a guy like Mike Kafka, Shane Day, Kevin O'Connell or something...people would be scrambling to think its a genius hire.

The reality is, even at the Power 5 level, your offensive playcaller can come from some wild places. A QB Coach (with a history of getting a ridiculous amount out of his QBs) / Passing Game Coordinator (of a Top 10 NFL passing offense) in the NFL is a perfectly acceptable hire at the Power 5 level to be your primary playcaller.

Feld better pace himself.

As a fellow white, I remember dating a Cuban girl down here and trying a "cortadito" for the first time around her family.

I pounded a few too quickly to look cool and it felt like my pupils started vibrating. I think my body temperature shot up to about 106 and I started speaking Cantonese then blacked out.

Not saying we couldn’t win with briles but the offenses you’re describing is what separates the top schools. College offenses are being ran in the nfl now. Most people keep saying pro style like we’re gonna be in i-formation or something lol. We have money to bring in top coaches and a big support staff like the top schools so what makes their kids learning nfl systems and playin at a high level different than us now?

Yea it’ll take time but are we tryna win the coastal or compete for it all in the future? If we’re making hires based on who can learn the playbook then we failed already, these kids aren’t dumb. They can learn whatever if it’s being taught right…Nobody is gonna do what lsu did but those route concepts aren’t rocket science they just coached it right and that showed in the results. We are rebuilding so anybody looking for immediate success is delusional
I know that pro football has adapted a lot of the offensive concepts utilized in college. The Arizona offense is cimpletely a college offense. Obviously they are not running much I-Form any more. The problem is the jargon, playbook and route adjustments are harder to learn in a typical Pro offense, including Dorsey's. We moved away from pro offenses for those reasons and the fact that we struggled for many years to find the most cerebral QB's. That is the hardest thing for coaches to evaluate when recruiting QB's.

If it was as easy as you say we wouldn't have struggled to find QB's to execute our offenses for most of 15 years prior to bringing Lashlee here.

So a guy who coached Cam Newton during his MVP season and currently coaches Josh Allen will not get the attention of a 5-star prospect? All these kids have dreams of being the first pick of the NFL draft. Nothing to learn from the PGC/QBC of the Buffalo Bills. Good lord.

Plus, these kids have the interwebz. So, you know, Google.

The last couple of weeks, lots of people have figured out that John Madden actually used to coach football. Plus they learned that he was pretty **** good at it.

that'd be underwhelming given the resources we promised Mario

Resources? First, there is a shortage of quality coaches. Second, a lot of schools are upping their resources too (and some already had the resources).

It's a competitive world.

there is no shortage. this cycle showed that any and all coaches are available at the right price. that being said, you can't say Clint hurtt is the ideal choice as DC.

my real question is if Dorsey will want to recruit. I think its been reported elsewhere that he hates recruiting so well see what happens here

I plan to have a drink or 2 once the OC, DC and the rest of the coaching staff are announced!

Just doing my part to get to 400…

Kentucky got Coen from the Rams and he had a pretty good first season. If we got Dorsey, hopefully it’d be a similar impact.
