Not saying coley is coming here. But I laugh At you who try to act like he isn’t a good coach. Everywhere he’s been his position group has been successful and he’s an elite recruiter. He 100% would be an asset to any program

-Brad kaaya was successful when he was the oc/qb coach,

- when he went to uga his receiver group was good

-then he switched to uga oc/qb coach and his offense was really good in the 2018 and 2019 season

-coached jalen wydermeyer the last 2 seasons who is one of the best tight ends in the country

I don’t think anyone intelligent will argue with you that he’s not a good coach. He’s a good coach. He’s an ELITE recruiter. He knows the game well.

He’s a very below average coordinator. That part is not debatable. If he’s here in ANY OTHER ROLE besides play-caller, it’s an A++ hire. If he’s here as the primary play-caller, Mario failed the test.

Side note: He was not the OC in 2018. Jim Chaney was. Chaney left after that year to be the OC at Tennessee, Coley became the play-caller, and the offense was horrendous immediately. He sucks as a play-caller. Again, this isn’t debatable.

He’s average at best calling plays, if that. . He’s a good qb coach or anywhere else on staff. Including te coach. His recruiting is what brings him to the dance. He’s also great at game planning and writing up the first fifteen. The problem is the other sixty plays.

not so sure if he comes it would be a lateral move like TEs or just QBs. You would probably have to make him co-OC w/ play calling duties and qb coach and majority of CIS would protest and declare itself an autonomous zone.

I think He improved with his play calling from his time at uga in the 2018 and 2019 seasons. At Miami he was a great opening drive type of play caller and then feast or famine but still id say he was a better playcaller than let’s say richt or enos at Miami 2 of our 3 previous play callers. Not saying I wont Him as our oc again but would gladly take him back as a position coach for sure

I’d make him te coach/assistant head coach and pay him close to 1 million 💯. He’s a worthy asset Imo

^^^This^^^ Beyond the first scripted drive of the game, he struggles immensely. If he couldn't get it done at UGA with their talent, you shouldn't expect him to get it done anywhere else.

-Brad kaaya was successful when he was the oc/qb coach. Not to mention he recruited nfl prospects better than richt on offense…

Njoku
Gus edwards
Herndon
Travis homer
Walton
Braxton berrios
Tyree St. Louis
Cager
McDermott
Richards(career cut short

Developed a bevy of rb/receiver/tight ends at Miami .

This ONE PLAY invalidates COLEY from calling plays. F.O.R.E.V.E.R.

I thought Fields was already assigned the TE coach role?

I wouldn’t be happy if Mario hired Richt or Enos either.

We’re no longer in the business of being better than the last guy. The last guy, for 20 years, has sucked rhinoceros balls. We’re in the business of hiring elite coaches who win championships. Coley is not one of those AS A PLAYCALLER. He’s ******* terrible. He got 1 year at UGA and completely **** the bed and was fired. With an offense that had Swift, Cook, Pickens, Cager, Fromm, White, McIntosh. They were like 60th in the country. Kirby couldn’t get rid of him fast enough. He sucks. But if we can get him to coach TEs and recruit here, he’s a ****-missile homerun.

Coley has been nowhere but elite programs as a position coach for over a decade now. Always a top recruiter. Anyone who doesn't want him as a position coach needs to get real.
I dont think anyone is saying no to Coley as a position coach; the concern is him as an OC.

How can you say he's improved from his time at UGA if he never called any plays after that experience?
"Better than Richt and Enos" it's not enough.

I agree though, I'd take him as a position coach. Nothing more.

In that case, do we really think Coley is going to be Mario's splash OC hire? He's failed both times there. No way a Co- moniker is going to make me think he's that stupid. If Coley were offered the OC position he'd be announced and in the building already.

worse than Lashlee's calling inside zone running play twice (with our sh1tty oline) from our own goaline and getting stuffed once for a safety and almost stuffed again for a safety against different teams ??
