I don't get this board - we can't be critical of a performance vs. a team missing over half their starters? Miss me with the "they're more talented" bullsh!t - not with the players on the field, that's why Arkansas was favored coming into this game by every betting site. Vegas doesn't put lines out there for ****s and giggles. On the field, Arkansas is expected to win because they have the better team on paper.

This is underwhelming from Briles, but it doesn't mean he's a trash OC. It doesn't discount his career as a play-caller...but don't just bring excuses out the woodwork when Arkansas should definitely be performing better vs. a unit missing six starters, their DC, and every reason not to be interested in this game. Yet for Arkansas, who hasn't won jack in years, this means much more.

I am gonna wait till people find out Miami has worse adjusted stats compared to Arkansas while playing in the ACC compared to the SEC.

No one has brought out excuses for the whole game. People say "I wont be happy when we hired him based off of two quarters of tape". Thats just nonsensical.

Not sure the point you are trying to make.

I am pro-Briles and would be happy with his hire; however, I am not going to make excuses for the first half.

On the other hand, you attempted to excuse the performance by mentioning the absence of Arky's best receiver. I said that was misleading because PSU is missing not one, but 6 starters on defense as well as their DC.

Reasonable minds would assume that Briles's offense would excel today.

Cool. Who are their replacements? Are they talented? How highly were they recruited? Fairly sure Penn State has a lot of young players ready to go.

Show me a player that is supposed to replace the maybe best receiver in the country on the team of Arkansas.
 
My only issue with Briles offense is it relies to much on QB running(too much). I dont want another RB playing QB. if a QB has some legs and can scramble great but need an offense that is designed for a Passing QB. I said from the very beginning that King was not a good fit for Lashlee's O. Now maybe Briles has something besides what we seen at Arky but that type of O wont win you championships

So, you are trying to tell me that the absence of 1 starting WR on Arkansas renders Briles's offense ineffective? Really? You are also trying to tell me that a top 15 SEC West team cannot replace a skill position player and take advantage of a defense missing more than half of its starters and defensive coordinator?

Maybe Briles isn't the answer.

Seems like Pittman abused his o line in the locker room at half, because they are MOVING dudes right now.

Arkansas will win. Can we wait to cancel Briles until at least the end of the game?

Hopefully, if we do hire Briles, he adjusts his offense to minimize QB runs and take advantage of TVD's quick release and arm strength.
