Cant fix stupid.
What's that mean?

Briles started as an OC at Baylor in 2015. Now, 7 years later, he's still an OC at basically an equal level program. It's a strange career path for such a well known OC. He's been a well known name since he's been at Baylor. Just trying to gain an understanding if you have any?

More coaches who were formerly OL?

100% take. He’s getting 1.2 right now. Sure we can up that up. Was brought in by Urban to be Co-OC with Day in 2017.

That was a name I didn’t think about. Good stuff.
Didnt think about it either when we were teased with Brady and him at OSU but he doesnt call plays and that would give us the opportunity to let him run his own show, OSU offense lights up scoreboards and they get recruits at a high level where they can have heisman qbs on bench and superstar WR on bench transfer to SEC at light em up.. He checks the boxes and would be a Grand slam Home Run...

There was that whole gang rape thing. Not always, but they usually hinder career advancement.

I actually like Briles and think be could do good things here.

But why's he at Arkansas still? Just looking for an explanation. Everybody knows who he is. Who his dad is..he's been at a big time program already at FSU. Worked under Kiffin already. He's definitely not an unknown at all.
Because ARK opens up the checkbook. Briles is one of the highest paid OCs in CFB

Kendal Briles is the OC for a team ranked #21 in the country whose last 8 win season was in 2015. He had a supposed big boy job at FSU, who knowingly collapsed due to Taggarts insane incompetence and the lack of talent on the team.

The main reason why Arkansas wins games is because of their offense.

Now, his career path: Was at Baylor, Broyles Award finalist and all that, then the whole *** scandal happened.

If we dont hire him, someone else will do it and we will regret it big time.

This is an awful take. Watching Arkansas now against a 7-5 Penn State and really not impressed

Arkansas is missing a bunch of starters, including their first-round WR.

Penn State also has a top 10 defense. Just a quick FYI.

So no, its not an awful take for a team who is supposed to be below .500 to be ranked #21 because of their offense.

11th in rushing offense
32nd in total offense
42nd in scoring offense
31st in yards per play (most important stat IMO)
23rd in offensive efficiency (FEI)
Outside of the top 50 in 3rd down conversion % (big red flag)
Outside of the top 50 in passing offense

There are some good things to like here but let's not make like Briles is even on Rhett's level

Seems like Briles’ play calling gets better when there’s rhythm and

To go off this, Penn St is missing a ton more starters than Arky is, especially on D. 5 starters + their DC...not impressed by Briles today so far, but it doesn't diminish his overall body of work.

Joe Brady > Briles, but Brady probably isn't realistic anymore.

Brady is an even bigger wild card than Briles. The guy has literally be an OC for 2.5 seasons and only one of them was in college. He's living off of that one, granted historical season, if we are being honest

Our best OC in last 20 years came from SMU

I feel really bad for the mouth breathers on this site who are 'growing impatient' with the hires not being official yet. Mario could announce the staff in February and it shouldn't and won't matter in the grand scheme
It's a joke, not Brock's steak, don't take it so hard.

The same thing was being said when fsu hired him.
RevLee had like 3 charts he put up about him and his offense and how he was gonna prison rape the acc.

He’s been an oc for several years now and yet no frontrunner school has called him up.

Bama Osu uga and the rest are not as image conscious as we are. They don’t seem to be worried that anyone else is hiring him so why tf should we?

I’m not an x and o person but he’s there for the taking and has been there for the taking and your telling me that the smartest man in cfb was gonna be willie tagert?

Hey you may be right and time may be on your side. But again, if he’s so awesome why is he at Arkansas? I would understand if this was a dude who exploded on the scene last year or something. But he’s been an oc for a while now and plenty of turnover at a some pretty big programs has occurred over that time span and again he’s at Arkansas.
