I never really liked McClendon anyway, his reputation was as a phenomenal recruiter but not really a technically savvy coach. Muschamp demoted him from being the play caller at South Car because his offensive game planning sucked so bad. He’s a salesman.

I’m not worried about any coaches except OC & CB’s coach.

Just find us a good OC & good CB’s coach & all will be fine.

I was going to say, outside of his recruiting, who did he really develop/coach (Outside DS)? I kept asking myself this. Not to take anything away from him, as his recruiting speaks for itself. If we can replace him with a decent recruiter, but a better coach, we’ll be fine.

Some people who were talking about it being weird not to allow the new OC to have input on his staff might've been on to something. Saban and a couple others are the only ones who get away with plucking guys from different systems with little or no previous connections and making it work.

Agreed. He hasn't lost the fan base. He hasn't even played a game yet. I still support him. But we can support him and still not be naive and blind to the fact that he has made some obvious mistakes early on. He still has time to sort it out. I'm rooting for Mario.

We didn’t pay him 80 million dollars to make mistakes early on. We’re 9 weeks in we have one non Oregon staffer on staff. And just lost the two best coaches we had on staff in a matter of a week. He’s an experienced coach. Mistakes early on were meant for someone like manny. This is inexcusable in every way. We’re supposed to be riding momentum coming off a monster final weekend visitor list but there appears to be no momentum in program what so ever
