I keep asking it but you referencing Smith's ability to leave for a lateral position must mean contracts for staff aren't worth the paper they're written on aside from guaranteeing that staff member a salary for a year (or probably multiple years in our case).
As long as the other school is willing to pay the buyout(if there is one) it seems likes contracts for assistants in college are about as strong as a limp handshake.

Big blow no doubt.

Ngl, I’m not understanding how people don't think this is the two biggest powers in the SEC intentionally tampering with our process and program. From his time at Bama, there’s no doubt that coaching circles know the kind of recruiting acumen Mario brings to the table, as people in media and on here have brought up time and again. Now that he is coaching at a storied program located in the hotbed of CFB recruiting (which is where Bama and UGA etc. love to pluck kids from on a yearly basis), it’s open season.

There isn’t a single Canes fan who should be clueless to the politics and power plays that are currently taking place. The CFB elites hate us and want us to fail, they know their jobs will become that much more difficult if they allow Mario to hire whichever stud recruiters he wants to try and lock down SoFla.

Now, that doesn’t mean you can’t believe that Mario is also bringing this upon himself by dragging this process out. Being thorough yet swift in your decision making is possible believe it or not. In retrospect, this was always going to be the downside with Mario’s focus on and love for recruiting - it seems that he neglects or maybe is more hands off with other processes that are just as important.

My 2¢
Mario only had to fight a weak west coast at Oregon. He is having to learn on the fly the big boys in college football are much harder to fight. At this point he is losing battles to them Just hope eventually he wins the war

The SEC just took arguably our 2 best recruiters.
We have not hired the most critical roles on the staff - OC & DC.
Coaches perceived by many to be OC candidates publicly rejected the opportunity to work for Mario making the program look unattractive.
Opposing teams are negatively recruiting again't us, using staff vacancies to make Mario look indecisive.

As I said on another thread, winning cures all ills. However we are 7 months away from playing a game that counts. We need some positive momentum.

Hiring a freakin' Tier 1 coordinator in the next week is good start.

McDaniels going to the Raiders, OBrien will go to New England and Brady will go to Bama. Watch.
Do not come after me if this happens. I'd be happy with the first two lol

It’s pretty obvious McClendon was hired by Miami & announced with an official tweet as being hired by Miami in order to keep him on hold until after Kirby won the National title & got his staff situated...

Mario let TRob & BMac go to Bama & UGA in order to have two inside guys on their staff to steal all their 5-star recruits for this upcoming class...

You guys are idiots if you can’t see what Mario is doing, he’s literally planting sleeper cells on the two most powerful programs in college football...

LCE is the early odds on favorite to win the Troll of the Year award. He's ahead by a mile and it ain't even close.🤣

AHHH Great minds think alike.

He HAS TO have A+ COORDINATORS because he cant coach a side at all....And.....he cant even lock in position coaches right now.

I was on the Lane Train the whole time becuase of it.

Im rocking with Mario because he is our guy but pretty soon we gonna be justifying why some 7 on 7 s.fla coach is a good wr coach for us cause of .."crooting".
Remember reading this was the big concern with Mario coming here, now we see.

Negative recurring? We are going after about 5 kids right now haha **** doesn’t matter. Wake me up when it’s spring ball and then fall and then we can worry about a staff and recruits
