He did wonders with Justin Herbert though. It's also been a long time since he called plays in college, coaches grow and develop. His name was tied to a lot of NFL OC searches last yearJFC...

With Urban Meyer fired, I wonder if Mario will be interested in Chris Ash, Mario interviewed him for DC last year. He's been the DC at Texas, Wisconsin and Ohio State
No you don't want him or no Mario isn't interested?

Pep Hamilton stock has gone way up in the NFL. He interviewed for several NFL OC job last season. He's the current QB Coach and passing game cordinator for the Texans
Well no defense is ever good at Rutgers and I can't remember the last good Texas defense to be honest. I haven't really studied Chris Ash but I know a lot of people think highly of himFormer. His defense wasn’t good at UT nor were they good at Rutgers. They were good at OSU 7 years ago. That doesn’t warrant DC consideration for a team that can spend and go get someone legit. Let him stay where he is at.
And yet none of them hired him...He did wonders with Justin Herbert though. It's also been a long time since he called plays in college, coaches grow and develop. His name was tied to a lot of NFL OC searches last year
And the Texans have the worst and unsophisticated passing game outside of the Lions and the Jaguars. He was the offensive coordinator of the Colts in an era where Andrew Lucks career essentially got murdered (2015) and got fired by the Chargers after one season.Pep Hamilton stock has gone way up in the NFL. Dude hasn't called a play in six years, we have a bigger budget than ever, and this name is out there.JFC...

Running a college offense is definitely easier then running a NFL offense, far more basic and easier to scheme up defenses. Regardless Pep Hamilton is one of the better QB Coaches in the NFL, he gets a ton of credit for Justin Herbert rookie season. I wouldn't be surprised if he's a NFL OC next season. And yet none of them hired him...
I know you mean well, but Pep Hamilton would be an unmitigated disaster.
And running a college offense isn’t the same as running a NFL offense, it’s a significantly different game on the NFL level than it is in college & the two aren’t always as translatable on paper as people might think.
He hasn’t been an OC in college in 9 years for a reason.
They have no QB but Davis Mills has looked good at times and no he didn't get firedAnd the Texans have the worst and unsophisticated passing game outside of the Lions and the Jaguars. No. I'd rather have Dorsey ten times over and Dorsey doesnt strike my nerve either.
He's one of the better QB Coaches in football and interviewed for several NFL OC job last year. Pep is really respected in the NFL. He interviewed for the Steelers,Titans and Dolphins OC jobsDude hasn't called a play in six years, we have a bigger budget than ever, and this name is out there.
Jesus H, Mother Mary, and Carlos Joseph (RIP)!
He's a well-liked journeyman. And he should be, as he's worked with a majority of the coaches in the league by now. He's one of the better QB Coaches in football and interviewed for several NFL OC job last year. This x 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000Now that this ENSD stuff is over for the most part, sure would be nice if we could get some official news here before the weekend is up.
QB coach is one thing. OC is quite another. If Pep is interested in coaching QBs for Mario I would certainly entertain that idea. As for OC? No F**King Way!Running a college offense is definitely easier then running a NFL offense, far more basic and easier to scheme up defenses. Just trying to think of our options, it's not like we can go out and pick anyone we want. I get we have more money now but there really aren't any high end OC candidates on the market right now. Kendall Briles and Jeff Grimes maybe? Those are just B+ kind of OCs. Tom Herman would be interesting but I think he likes the NFL. I know it likely wouldn't happen but I would pay big money for Rams OC Kevin O'Connell, he doesn't call plays there, maybe he would entertain a move to college and a big payday. Give him 2.5M and make him AHC/OC.QB coach is one thing. OC is quite another. If Pep is interested in coaching QBs for Mario I would certainly entertain that idea. As for OC? No F**King Way!
