1000% correct here. Mario is big on loyalty and saw that T-Rob was setting roots to be here with his moms, and Mario having a similar attachment to his moms probably identified with him on that level and decided to take his word that he was staying.

One thing is for sure though.....he got fooled this time....guarantee it'll never happen again

The timing with Raymond has been discussed several times in this thread. Raymond reached out right as Mario was being hired. Mario missed the message due to trying to get acclimated. By the time Mario got Raymond’s message Raymond had already taken the gaytor deal.

Seems it was timing more than Mario rejecting Raymond.

I agree. It’s one thing to miss on a sitting HC.

Missing on a G5 coach for the same position - an obvious promotion - to another school essentially in our conference that doesn’t offer autonomy and control would be a miss.

I don’t think ND is paying more than us.. it’ll come down to where he would rather be. ND personnel is certainly better than ours on D right now

That’s an easy sell, the ability to create and mold your own defense as opposed to inheriting shows your ability to progress and take that next step.
