I really like Jeff Grimes. I’ll say top 5 or top 10 OC in the country.

But I think we’re needing someone that can coach QBs to fit the staff mold. Someone that coaches WR could probably still fit. Another OL background might not work
Wasn’t Grimes OC at BYU when Zach Wilson went nuts and played himself into the #2 overall pick?

The OB Boys allude to the fact that Briles is a liability ref off field issues. Any substance to this? They mentioned a rape scandal from the past?
??? Roman (one of the OBB) says Briles is his second choice behind Brady. He’s a huge fan of his. Not sure if you are referring to Scoop, but Roman (former STA QB) is the guy who really breaks down the OCs.

It was their general OBB twitter where it doesnt say who actually posted it. I assumed it was scoop or toast. Good to hear Roman is a huge Briles fan. 👍

This is generous, no? Bolden and Hall regressed under TRob. He moved on to Williams, Williams, and Kinchens, who played well for freshmen, but didn't necessarily outperform their expectations. Not saying he's a bad coach, but safeties were underwhelming if anything.
What did Hall regressed from? Bolden hasn't been the same since the 2020 Clemson game.

Liking a system doesn't mean you like any guy who calls plays in that system. FSU was a disaster, in substantial part, because of his game planning and retarded play calling. It was so bad that people were demanding that Willie intervene. His misuse of Akers was beyond baffling.
I’d credit the misuse of Akers to their OL situation. No one was running behind that.

I questioned Lashlee’s playcalling within his own system but he cleared a lot up in his media availability the following week. Discussing the read within the RPO and what TVD saw and what he should have saw/should have done.

Didn’t he have Blackman as QB in his year as OC? That clears a lot up. I watched 2 Arkansas games all year and I was blown away both times watching what he did with KJ Jefferson.

Again.. didn’t watch much of him at FSU, only 2 games at Arkansas, but I was tuning into watch Houston all the time and watched him at FAU a lot. I like the system and like his feel for the game. I watched a lot of the old Baylor teams too before pops got the axe.

Dead period for recruiting starts tomorrow. I expect to hear more about staff coaching search during this time. Suspect Mario has been devoting his energy to seeing and talking to recruits while he could before dead period started.

He was with Dino Babers & Sterling Gilbert at Easter Illinois & Bowling Green...

They run that TX High School Pistol Offense, it’s a simple one-read offense, it’s close to the Veer as well.

But I don’t think he’d be the kinda guy we’d get, if we take any coaches from Kent St, the HC Sean Lewis is the one & no way do you go from being a G5 HC to being a P5 OC, that never happens lol.
Makes sense. Appreciate the knowledge brother. He seems like an up and comer to watch down the road.

Sorry if it’s been posted or talked about but is there any kind of realistic possibility of bringing in Jeremy Pruitt for DC? Asking for a friend….

Yessir. A lot of people credit Aaron Roderick with that too as the PGC at BYU and now OC

Roderick is a great coach, but save for LDS mission Roderick has never lived outside Idaho or Utah. Dude is 48.

Misuse of Akers? He had 261 touches in 11 games. I swear to god it’s a literal chore to not get dumber reading this site lately. People have absolutely no idea what they’re talking about.
