Toledo Ohio is well, Toledo... There’s not going to be a ton of 4-star talent floating around available for a G5 Mac program like Toledo, so if he produced relatively good results despite the limitations in resources & talent pool, then that speaks volumes to his ability to do more with less, so the logic is, give him more & see if he can do even more with better.

This argument makes more sense for a school like Vandy in the SEC.

Toledo maybe can only recruit at a MAC level, but it plays in the MAC. It doesn’t to do more with less. It usually finishes with the top recruiting class in the conference.

SIAP. Mario and Candle have the same agent. Might help

This makes sense cause CMC would have some big balls to call a current HC, and offer him an OC position without some kind of knowledge beforehand.

For Candle, he probably was hoping Toldeo would lead to some P5 interest but, honestly, an OC position at any top 10 school would probably be better for his career.

The more I watch Toledo highlights, the more excited I'm getting

The real question is will we reach the 900 number?

Couldn't find the whole game but he uses a lot of different formations. Has some variety in the run game as well. Got the ball back down 2 with 3:46 left on the road and went and got 7 but defense couldn't hold it

That jet motion with the inside pitch near the endzone @7:46 was *chef kiss*

More diverse RPO and run game than Lashlee.

Would be absolutely positively Epic f_cking hire!

Pre-snap motion is just a man or zone check, it’s not some special wrinkle that confuses defenses, it’s just used to check to see if the Defense is in Man or zone, there’s nothing complex about it.

El, no disrespect, but that's not entirely true. The advantage that pre-snap motion & shifts provide modern offenses has to do with leverage & in creating run fits by isolating certain defenders. It's evolved past simple man or zone checks, & window dressing.

Trying to find a source I know on a name someone on here DM’d me today for OC.. No reason not to believe him or anything…

But if it’s legit… pants coming off 🍆🍆

Hasn’t been mentioned at all either but I could see how it would make sense for him to be interested
Was this Candle?

As a Toledo kid, I would absolutely freaking love this hire. He runs a up tempo spread offense, but can totally adjust it depending on the personnel and who his QB is. Reminds me of Mullen in the sense that he has a grear feel for the game in real time. Matt Campbell disciple, and has recruited Florida pretty well. Love his run game concepts and use of TE as well.
We can rape the ACC if this is the guy and we get the DC hire right!

Yeah it’s not the exact same as the Bama one but basically the same lol. Good ol’ Manny 😂

Like, I’m not even gonna sit here and front like I didn’t support Manny in the beginning. Remember the Diaz Cartel? That **** was so much fun right? However, over the years he made it increasingly hard to support him with his constant coach speak, his gimmicky antics, and overall coaching acumen. Now, you can’t say he didn’t try, but in the end it just wasn’t good enough. I personally didn’t care if his personality or demeanor wasn’t “footbally” enough for most, I tend to judge more on results than looks, which is why I didn’t get into personal attacks on him as a person but **** man, he ain’t do himself no favors more times than not.

The post I quoted was about how toledo played against our defense in 2017.. So yes that's why I'm referencing how our defense was then and why I'm not referencing how it was in 2021

Know the context of the conversation before turning into a keyboard warrior

This you?
Say what you want about Manny as a HC but he was amazing for our program as a DC under richt.

This toledo offense did very well against the best defense we've had in over 15 years

“He was amazing for our program as a DC under Richt.”

How’s that for context of the conversation?

Looking back knowing what we know now I don’t think anyone would say Manny was amazing as a DC even under Richt.

The poster who responded to you was correct that you can’t just look at the stats. Manny had some moments with ND being the peak but got torched versus quality opponents.

Spencer Whipple would be a homerun...

The Cardinals offense at Miami is A+...

If we’re going to take a NFL guy, it needs to be a young innovative guy, not an old fuddy duddy set in his ways.

Dorsey, Brady, Spencer, Kafka, Bleymaier etc are the kinds of NFL guys you want.
I respect your opinion so can you elaborate at all on what you like about Whipple?
