He does well in Ohio and Pa as well

Would be a nice change to see our coordinators consistently move on to HC jobs. Becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy eventually by attracting the best and the brightest2 is probably accurate, and that's 100000% okay. He comes in and does what he does, guys will be begging to replace him.
Who was the first person to throw out the HC from another program as our OC idea again?
Yeah you for sure had it first. I bounced the pedigree of the guy around and no one picked up on it until Jay posted what he did and I even messaged you that it looked legit because Jay had the name too lol. His response when I said ‘so we heard the same name, thats a good sign’ was a ‘wow’ face lmao! Then, slowly but surely others started hearing the name via his 45-27 record and then the classic cool-off when someone, in this case someone here we all love, threw water on it.So this was the reason why I brought back up the topic on a HC from another program being the OC in the big names thread on p406…
Slid another poster the name that night after hearing Candle was a primary target, said poster can vouch if they choose. Spoke with Jaycane about it as well after he mentioned hearing about a G5 HC candidate a few days later. I couldn’t believe it honestly. But I was only told exactly that he was just a top target, not that anything was “done” so I wasn’t going to create a guessing and speculation frenzy since at that point his name was nowhere to be found anywhere and I **** sure wasn’t dropping a name publicly. Candle is an X and O wiz that has a modern style, scores points (27th in scoring O, Miami was 23rd) but traditionally runs the pill very well too (30th rushing O) so this makes sense for Mario.
When scoop and plugged in sources put out stuff like this and start using terms like targeting and zeroing in etc, most of the time that means all but done. It’s risky though cause the man is still employed but with this being “OUT” now, I can’t see it dragging on very long. Either he will sh*t or get off the pot. Hopefully we get it done, would be home run IMO.
1.2milI like it. Having former HCs as coordinators is a plus in my book. How much does this guy get paid now?
When someone repeatedly attacks for no reason at all, that is deflection, a sign of weakness, i.e. you dont know the answer but dont want to admit that. See I did learn something at the U. Dont bother answering, I put people on IGNORE.If your immediate reaction is to be underwhelmed by something you admit to know nothing about, I’m not wasting my time to educate you on anything.
Thanks guyLol.. Candle is not taking this job. Which I’m assuming it’s Briles job.
First and foremost you can’t spell. So congrats on that.
Secondly if you can’t grasp that us hiring a sitting G5 Head Coach, one you runs as great of an offense as he does(with lesser talent), that recruits as well as he does(with lesser resources), is a splash hire then I don’t know man maybe football fandom isnt for you.
also the above points aren’t just fan ****. Backed up with stats. And years of it.
Dan Enos did in 2015 when he walked away from Central Michigan to be OC at Arkansas.Has anyone ever left a HC job at a mid major to be an OC at a bigger program without getting canned? Hope it happens but gotta wonder the rationale unless it's more pay and he wants to live in Miami
Agree. He wants to carry this into an NFL OC job or a lower level P5 jobIf this guy takes the job I don’t think money will be the reason, at all.
This is a strategic move not a financial one imo.
The way I read it he has been trying to bump up to a P5 program as a HC but getting no traction. Looks like he has plateaued at Toledo. Getting a restart as an OC at a major P5 program might be a good move. Plus a pay bump doesn't hurt either.Yeah, I’m where you’re at. He’s been at Toledo for 6 years and has done well. I would not be surprised if P5 comes calling soon for HC jobs. Now he’d take an OC gig?
