The fact that we have fans whining about this possibility is proof that we have some people that don't watch college football regularly. If Candle is the guy, that's a HUGE hire. Candle is a rising star, a guy that I would have taken over Manny when Richt retired, and Miami is potentially getting him as an OC, despite him being relatively successful at Toledo.

I'd be shocked if he took a demotion, unless there's something going on at Toledo that he wants to get away from. I'm hoping against hope he's the choice, I'd take him over Briles everyday of the week. The only way Mario could top this hire is if he got a guy like Kellen Moore from the NFL.

As a Toledo kid, I would absolutely freaking love this hire. He runs a up tempo spread offense, but can totally adjust it depending on the personnel and who his QB is. Reminds me of Mullen in the sense that he has a grear feel for the game in real time. Matt Campbell disciple, and has recruited Florida pretty well. Love his run game concepts and use of TE as well.

Spoke with Jaycane about it as well after he mentioned hearing about a G5 HC candidate a few days later. I couldn’t believe it honestly. But I was only told exactly that he was just a top target, not that anything was “done” so I wasn’t going to create a guessing and speculation frenzy since at that point his name was nowhere to be found anywhere and I **** sure wasn’t dropping a name publicly. Candle is an X and O wiz that has a modern style, scores points (27th in scoring O, Miami was 23rd) but traditionally runs the pill very well too (30th rushing O) so this makes sense for Mario.

When scoop and plugged in sources put out stuff like this and start using terms like targeting and zeroing in etc, most of the time that means all but done. It’s risky though cause the man is still employed but with this being “OUT” now, I can’t see it dragging on very long. Either he will sh*t or get off the pot. Hopefully we get it done, would be home run IMO.

Yeah you for sure had it first. I bounced the pedigree of the guy around and no one picked up on it until Jay posted what he did and I even messaged you that it looked legit because Jay had the name too lol. His response when I said ‘so we heard the same name, thats a good sign’ was a ‘wow’ face lmao! Then, slowly but surely others started hearing the name via his 45-27 record and then the classic cool-off when someone, in this case someone here we all love, threw water on it.

Still always had a feeling there was too much legitimate smoke there for it to be just smoke, man I researched this guy for hours, the more I read, the more I was sold on it. I admit I had sorta moved on to Whipple but happy as **** if I am wrong on this one! Put some respect on @htownkidd ‘s name. He is very well-informed.

When someone repeatedly attacks for no reason at all, that is deflection, a sign of weakness, i.e. you dont know the answer but dont want to admit that. See I did learn something at the U. Dont bother answering, I put people on IGNORE.

Money talks, so if you offer more money and if it's significant, most G5 coaches will take it.

I haven't delved into his offenses, but it seems they can't play defense if they're scoring a lot.

His main competition is his conference schedule. Lesser talent? What? Supposedly he had the best in conference recruiting class all but one year. Take those rankings with a grain of salt.

Lesser resources? Again, what? Compared to his conference opponents, no clue what they're all working with. If you mean against P5 schools, bet their offense drops and they don't win. Duh.

What's backed up? Your post doesn't say a dang thing. If you're comparing whatever to P5 schools, great. Who in the **** makes that comparison? You compare things to your conference as that's what your schedule is largely made up of.

Maybe he's great, but I don't see anything that says he's amazing or anything as a head coach. OC, maybe, guess we'll maybe see.

The way I read it he has been trying to bump up to a P5 program as a HC but getting no traction. Looks like he has plateaued at Toledo. Getting a restart as an OC at a major P5 program might be a good move. Plus a pay bump doesn't hurt either.
