Forget he’s a ****…he doesn’t have an offense that ranked INSIDE THE TOP 100 since 2014 with Bama…if you want the fanbase to turn against you before coaching a down of football, this is how you do it.

The other thing I want to add is that I know for a fact that Marcus is going to be very involved with the defense moving forward. Same as he has always been. Like I said from day one, Tommy Rees will do his thing offensively and run the show on that front, Marcus will assist in game planning especially to bounce things off each other, but Marcus will still run the show defensively and work hand in hand with the new defensive coordinator. That will ensure continued success for this group. He took more of a hands off approach at time with the bowl game to allow Elston to do his thing during the game and things didn’t end up as they expected in the end after they started off great. Maybe it was a wake up call, but I expect this defense to be lights out knowing how involved he will be on a daily basis.

Mason and Belk are making over a million in their current gigs and have complete autonomy over their defenses. Hard to see either one not being in a situation where they are calling someone else's defense

I just can't imagine they don't know who they want yet. That would be crazy. I would hope it's NFL guys and they just need to wait.

My only fear is that they feel confident about NFL guys who may get better offers and leave us with nobody in deep January.

Honestly I feel like it's either this week, or after signing day...and given that I've said "I feel like it's this week" four times already, I'm going to to assume it's after signing day. It very well may even be after the Super Bowl.

I personally think nothing good comes with waiting that long, but hey - that's why I'm a fan, and Mario is getting paid a boat load of money to make the decision. I just hope after all this time vetting through options, coupled with the plethora of coaches that are allegedly interested in the position, these hires blow our socks off.

Exactly, we had smoke screens for the AD and HC hire but nothing, not even some solid rumors, for the OC and DC. They (media) are recycling the same names we are hearing since the beginning hence why I think that nobody knows anything (and that is not necessarily a bad thing).

People getting ancy about the hires. May be or may not be justified. Some starting to throw names out of no where because they are ancy
 
I mentioned Nussmeier yesterday but after seeing those stats, cross him off list. What about Jake Peetz? Mario also worked with him at Bama.

Agreed. Belk is next man up if Holgorsen is fired or retired or got another job. Baker and Manny definitely not in this man's class.
