Some names to watch before it’s deleted

I had a couple threads deleted in the AM for multiple reasons. One being the hints were a little too good and two it was still early in n the process. They were just serious candidates. I’ve mentioned some of the names now and others have guessed off my thread so here’s where we are. Coaches to watch as possible options.

Brady oc

Coley / Ponce qb

Dorsey oc or qb coach

Hurtt DL / possible co DC

Brumbaugh off field

Partridge DL / possible co Dc

Schuman Dc/Lb or Belk

Bobby Williams te or st’s or both, because of his connection with Mario

Rod chance cb because of his connection with Mario

Seider Rb or te ( UF is involved )

McClendon rb or wr That’s been posted by caneville as done. I Confirmed as well.

Mirabal OL ( DuH)

Fields TE or off field

Ish likely off field if retained

T Rob or Tvd or both S / cb.

Nick Monroe DB

The off field room will remain close to intact



Those are all names to watch as candidates / possible hires . I’ll add new names when I hear them.

I said I liked Brady, but felt Coley brought experience to the position. For those of you criticizing my choices, check out the first 5 minutes of Canesinsight Mock Coaching Staff and see who they selected.

I couldnt give a rats ***, to be honest. Coley is not better than Briles. Anyone who really believes that needs to see the eye doctor.

3-4 base is the only thing that makes sense if both are coming. Before everyone freaks out nobody runs base 3/4’s or 4/3’a much. It’s majority hybrid stuff so don’t start bleeding everywhere.

Macho tried to calm everyone down the other day by explaining this. Seemed like it worked a little bit. But I’m sure some will still freak out.

But why??? One guy on a message board said he’s better than Briles even though Coley is routinely shove into a recruiter role by the coaches that know him the best??? Come on man. The guy like thought about it and stuff.
 
Ferman did a write up this morning on all of these OC candidates. Here's Brady's:

Brady, recently fired by the Carolina Panthers. would run a downfield spread attacking style that tries to utilize team speed and get players open in space.

He's spent the last two years in the NFL as the Panthers' offensive coordinator, getting fired this year with that side of the ball struggling. But that's a team that just doesn't have a lot of healthy offensive talent. And Brady won the Broyles Award as the nation's top college assistant coach in 2019, and in his last college job he helped the Tigers win a national title with an offense that scored a record 726 points behind QB Joe Burrow. His role as passing game coordinator on that team included his helping make calls in critical third down and red zone situations.

Before his one season at LSU, Brady spent two years working in Sean Payton's system with the Saints as an offensive assistant.

Brady has a small sample size and that was aided by working with elite talent at LSU but is considered an innovative offensive mind who along with whatever playbook he develops also likes to take bits and pieces from other teams. In the past he's said that at LSU he'd take Wednesdays to review every TD scored in the NFL that week and glean what he could from it.

Based on what he learned at LSU and with the Saints, the expectation is there would be a lot of formations used to confuse defenses, including empty sets.

Prior to his time with the Saints, Brady was a graduate assistant at Penn State in 2015 and 2016, and he began his coaching career as the linebackers coach, of all things, at William & Mary in 2013.

He has personal ties to Miami, growing up in Pembroke Pines and graduating from Everglades High School, and he played wide receiver in college at William & Mary.

Per a recent David Lake article this morning, he stated that Miami and Partridge have not been in contact, which conflicts with some twitter posts
