We started the morning with a nonsensical wrestling discussion. We then pivoted to T-Rob leaving and are now questioning Mario's decision-making and labeling him as indecisive.

What are you talking about? Mario himself in an interview last week with Lebetard said he would have the staff in place the end of the dead period. Nobody made that up, he said it.
Okay, I stand corrected. Let's panic now. Oh no, the sky is falling.

From 247 re: Hurtt

I have been informed by a source that Clint Hurtt is not interested in returning to the college ranks as he has been considered to be Miami's next defensive coordinator.

A few notes on Hurtt:

• Multiple sources have informed me that Hurtt has "learned a lot" from being in the NFL since 2014

• Not only has he gained knowledge about the game, but sources noted Hurtt would be good on the motivation and accountability side of things

• One of the reasons why Hurtt is not currently interested in returning to college, where he last coached in 2013 at Louisville, is because he could be in line for a promotion after being the assistant head coach/defensive coach for the Seahawks since 2017

• Another reason is the hesitancy for returning to college is getting back into the recruiting scene

• None of this should be a huge surprise because most coaches who spend time in the NFL are interested in staying in the NFL if possible
So they’re still a month behind. Great.

PS: If he was really a candidate then why did we hire Joe Salave’a and make him the run game coordinator?

Nightmare to lose TRob as a recruiter. And if the fkn solution is to keep DVD as his replacement that an enormous red flag from Mario.

He needs to ******* hire a staff already and if TRob has been slow playing him then fkn replace him. He never seemed to want to be here anyway - decide!
Relax snowflake

With that Hurtt nugget out, I'm beginning to think it's going to be some kind of Belk/Abdul-Rahim + LB coach or Schumann/Abdul-Rahim combo
It’s going to be somebody with a LBer background. Anybody following around already knows that. That guy from Cali has coached OLBs in a 3-4 and safeties. That leaves inside linebacker.
