I hope it’s T-Rob. The longer this goes without confirming he’s on staff, the more alarming it is. There’s no denying that whatsoever - I don’t care for all the “he’s said he’s staying, he told players he’s staying”. So why not announce it and make it official? It’s not like we’re respecting his feelings regarding another school, or another league for that matter.

Unless of course, he’s waiting out on the UGA and Bama positions and seeing what the aftermath is at those two schools, both of whom’s DB coaching positions are uncertain.

Big red flag imo, if he’s not confirmed today or tomorrow.

He has not been fired. I do not know history of press releases for coaches that are not new hires.Do not recall this being done though

I see both sides of the issue. Bender didn't attempt to lead anyone on or anything like that, but it's pointless, in my own opinion, to post "I've heard something, but won't give up the details."

I can see how that would annoy other poRsters. It does come off like a "look at me I get fed info" type of post regardless if it was meant to be or not.

I personally don't care enough. I come here to see any news and see if any insiders are dropping specifics. If they aren't I move on. Obviously not everyone is like me, and this thread is a great example of the varying levels of patience people have.

The whole point I'm making is saying you have information just to say it comes off as pointless, and I have the patience of a saint and everyone should aspire to be more like me.

I’ll add this observation of this global message board phenomenon:
- some posters can get ****y or bent out of shape when questioned
- this has existed since the beginning of message board insiders/info providers
- it can annoy posters - specifically when people only want to take the good, and when the bad comes - they like it less and/or capn save a hoes come running in to defend - intensifying the situation…

I’m not saying this is happening here or on this fine board, but I have seen it in my day re: recruiting - let’s say an insider and a handler do a podcast related to a recruit - filling the fans with hope of committing to the home team only to have him sell himself to an SEC plantation….. there could be a bit of backlash in that scenario, if the insider is a ****y ******** there could be more backlash, if capns come a running, even more backlash…

So let’s all just not be ****twats and ****heads and enjoy the discussions of the team we all allege to be fans of…

I’m cool with hiring UGA assistants, not necessarily because they’re great coaches, but if they can help Mario recruit at the level Kirby is, they don’t really have to be. I think that’s the ultimate blueprint anyway. Yes, extreme schematic advantages would be great. But Mario has proven to be an average to above average football coach. He’s an elite of elite recruiter. The game is going to be recruit so well that you don’t need a marked schematic advantage. He knows he can do that here a lot easier than at Oregon.

Maybe average as a gameday coach but I think his organizational skills and program development skills will prove to be absolute top shelf!

What exactly is there to announce if he’s staying though? For TRob and any other holdovers that are staying on staff I don’t know that we’ll get announcements the way that we did for the new hires. Somewhat odd to announce that a coach isn’t being fired. I’d expect him and others that are staying to be included in the press release we put out when the staff is complete.
