BOB would be a solid coach for Michigan IMO. In first 6 seasons with Texans he had 5 winning seasons, won division 4 times. Now as a GM not do good.

Also he did a solid job at Penn State when they had like 63 scholarship players in 2012 went 8-4. Went 7-5 next season, but did a nice job due to what he inherited.

Has been a really good OC this year at Alabama with a lot of new pieces on offense including the QB,

I question the mental competency of any HC who trades away a DeAndre Hopkins.

O'brien is a solid Xs and Os guy, but his personnel skills are abhorrent.

I always took it to mean the $8m was just with regard to on field staff. The new $20-$30m was in part supposed to account for analysts and off field guys. Might be wrong though.

Look at other schools. 5-8m is for on field coaching. Mario made sure the commitment was there before signing his contract
