Yea most spread offenses do but im sayin him saying Mario wont hire an air raid coach isn't saying he's just gonna run the ball 35 times like they did at Oregon.
Gotcha and I agree.

Mario wants to have physicality , not finesse. Which I get.

Most air raid teams are soft and for a reason. It’s all throw the ball around at practice and not much physicality or man on man football. You’re how you practice and if you lack physicality in practice you won’t play that way in games.

At some point you have to whip the man in front of you. That’s why I wanted Mario , I know the trenches will be playing big boy ball in a couple years.

That doesn’t mean you can’t have a multiple offense or a spread , I just want a mentality. Air raids don’t bring that.

I’m confused, Jay says no McLendon but Cribby says done deal

Which is it?

Alabama is in the playoffs and can’t run on anybody.

Cinn just for their running game pushed in by Houston on Saturday.

Both teams brand are physical football. That’s what they are.

They aren’t Air Raid. But Bama is a pass first team.

And neither can run on good teams. ****, Bama struggles running on bad teams this year.

It’s simply not true that at some point you have to be able to run the football. Bama hasn’t reached that point this season. And if they didn’t reach it against UGA, they aren’t going to reach it.

I think you just answered your own question.

Brady isn't air raid, but he's pass first, open up the run after. Same with Briles - both of which are, at worst, in heavy contention to be OC. That in itself shows Mario is willing to adapt to his personnel and take his offensive approach to the modern era.

That's the way I think of it, at least.

It was more of a why would he commit to being here when he’s still in the running for Oregon HC and OC potentially on a new staff.

Cribby has a good source obviously and we talked about it in PM a little. Definitely real smoke on BMac

Staff makeup is just gonna be different than expected if he’s coming

Bama just averaged 4+ YPC against UGA with their 4th string back and their starter basically running on one leg. Their QB had a phenomenal game through the air, but they ran the pill when they needed to. Their backs are decimated with injuries so their run game has been not what we are use to seeing, but they still are a physical team and can enforce their will when they need to. JMO

no matter the development of the passing game, the game is still won in the trenches. the tampa bay v. chiefs super bowl reminded us of that once again. mahones didn't have even a second to throw the ball.

ohio state showed us the same thing v Oregon in the championship game in 2015 (?).

I think air raid is what we all wanted and hoped for but clemson does not have an "air raid" offense and they've dominated the ACC for nearly a decade. I'm all for a spread offense with heavy dosage of 2 TE sets and running it down ppl's throat

He said “whoop the man in front of you”
If you don’t realize that is what separates teams like bama from all the other pass first teams that aren’t making the playoffs every year, then you’re not paying close enough attention to what goes on at the LOS

bama’s offense hasn’t done that either though. They struggle to run and the OL has gotten its *** handed to them all year.

They are not a physical team on offense this year. Anybody arguing otherwise has not watched them.

Their offensive success is because of their passing attack and a QB making it work.

I told y’all Schuman was the real deal and players think he’s brilliant. A football lab rat. He’s probably higher though of than Lanning there.
Him and Brady on the Xs and Os + some great recruiters....

I'm happy.

Now hopefully we bring in a lot of support staff for Strength and Conditioning AND a couple quality analysts for each side of the ball...

Give me this, as I read that I said 🤔

Wilson and Mastro any good?

Wilson is good LB coach/assistant HC type. He would fix the LB room quick. But pretty sure he will get the Nevada job. If he doesn’t all for him coming.

Maestro is good too but I think we need someone with strong Florida ties as RB Coach.
