my real question is if Dorsey will want to recruit. I think its been reported elsewhere that he hates recruiting so well see what happens here

I believe that neither Brady nor Dorsey are "recruiting" types. And from what I've heard, Briles isn't exactly great at it (though his last name precedes him).

Short answer yes. These kids have a lot more going on in there life to know who a QB coa cfb is in the NFL. A 2023 five star was 9-10 years old when Cam Newton won MVP and Dorsey was his QB coach. Of course they can google Dorsey when they find out he is OC/QB coach but cfb is about recruiting first and coaching second in regards to talent acquisition I think. BYU developed a 1st rounder you think 5 stars are thinking about going there because what the QB coach/OC did?
Have you spoken to these kids? I coached 2 kids who have declared for this year's NFL draft. These two kids ate and slept football from age 7 up through high school. You think once a guy like Ken Dorsey introduces himself these kids won't listen? You give these kids very little credit. Most of these kids go from camp to camp and have private instructors. They know a **** of a lot more than the average fan.

I love the Miami hurricanes so this isn't dorsey slander but you guys are doing the same thing that happened with Joe brady

Josh Allen and cam Newton are all world talents. Does Brady deserve some credit? Yes but let's not pretend he's a QB whisperer and being the QB coach for two elite talents doesn't all of a sudden qualify you to get a top 5 OC Job in college(considering our available $$) when you've never called plays before
Seems like he's helped both hit their peaks, but somewhat difficult to parse Newton's decline, Shula Jr, and Dorsey with the fall off at the end there.

Dorsey is very likely going to get an NFL OC job before months-end. I think it’s blind homerism that he’s even entertaining us

Well, "blind" may be a bit much, but I can sign-off on the homerism.

Remember, when Miami gets rolling, our coordinator jobs will lead to bigger/better things. We aren't App State. Yes, he would come to UM because IT IS UM, but if he is successful, he will have plenty of future NFL opportunities too.

very likely is not the same as guaranteed if he takes the OC job at Miami. At least there's that going for us. :noidea:
